Personally greeted by the publican who made us feel welcome. The atmosphere, food and entertainment were great. The service was smooth and the staff were cheerful and efficient. I'd highly recommend this as a great night out

I'm from PA and I love the countryside. Seeing this history even though it wasn't completely intact just sent chills through my spine imagining what it must have been like way back when. So glad my wife was there to share it.

Awesome pub. Walking the wall and didn't book (because I am lazy) and they got a room made up for me and were kind and hospitable.

The best homestyle Sunday lunch in the region. Great value for money too, if you're really, really hungry go large, be warned tho it's massive and under £10. Meat is always perfect, wish they'd tell me how they cook it! Always at least one descent real ale on and staff are great. I thought twice about putting this on coz it's my best kept secret...till now!

Well. Was planning a light meal but ... no luck here. The largest meal I ate in all England ... and Scotland, so far. This remembers some country side meals I had in Portugal. Good times. Unfortunately the food was not very tasty and my stomach complained a bit the week after. Staff was nice, great atmosphere with music from the 80's, not the new rubbish music. Pretty quiet for a pub.

We stopped by the Three Tuns on our Hadrian's Wall hike as we passed through Heddon-on-the-wall. Apart from being very hungry from the 15 miles we'd already hiked that day, their Sunday roast would have been wolfed down regardless. The service was very quick and efficient, we ordered one beef and one lamb dinner and it was amazing. Just like a proper home-cooked roast, warming and wholesome. For pudding, we shared a sticky toffee pud which was equally as delicious. A perfect ending to the meal. The staff were very accommodating to our need for endless glasses of ice water too! The price was great for the portions we got. Would definitely recommend anyone hiking Hadrian's to stop in to refuel and rehydrate!

Stopped here for a meal and a pint on our way along Hadrians wall. Nice local pub good selection, got served quickly and was very helpful. Food was proper pub food, great priced and loved it. Really recommend it. Steak & ale with peas chips and loads of gravy, original lasagne came with garlic bread.

Pleasant country pub with friendly staff. Enjoyed watching the Newcastle United match on Sky Sports whilst there. They served a nice pint of Boddingtons; something that seems to be hard to get these days!

Lovely staff, food and atmosphere. The owner couldn't have done more for us. Up from the Wirral to play close house and couldn't have picked a better pub to go before we played. Highly recommend for food, drinks and an all round great time.
