Review Elephant & Castle - Hemingfield

Visiting family, and we came here for Sunday lunch. Lovely pub staff were very helpful. Gluten-free item clearly stated on the menu. I had baked cod in a cream sauce on mash potatoes. Veg was put on the table to share. It was presented lovely. It was more expensive than l would normally pay for a Sunday lunch ยฃ18 but the quality was there, so l didn't mind.

Finally found a beautiful place to enjoy a 0.0% Lager on draught. The beer garden is beautiful overlooking the Knoll Beck.

We arrived at the Elephant and Castle and were greeted straight away with a warm welcome and a friendly smile. We were seated away from most of the hustle and bustle of the restaurant (which we really appreciated) and asked straight away what drinks we would like. We had a few minutes perusing the menu and were asked if we had decided what we wanted to eat in a good, timely manner. We both ordered 'The Posh One' breakfast. The food was clearly a very high quality, with immaculate presentation. It's more than clear that great pride is taken in the sourcing, cooking and presenting of the dishes. The potatoes that come with the breakfast were particularly tasty. We were given some time to chat after we finished our food before the plates were cleared. We were then asked if we would like anything else. We asked for the bill and this was brought to us straight away, again with the upmost professionalism and warmth that we experienced throughout our whole dining experience. We could not find one thing to complain about or to recommend to better the service. Absolutely A-star.

Popped in for coffee whilst on a walk. Lovely staff and very nice coffee with a free little cake on the side. Back soon for a meal.

This place is an absolute GEM ๐Ÿ’Ž โœจ๏ธ you almost don't want to share. But this place deserves so much custom and recognition. Whether you come for a few drinks or food you are guranteed to enjoy yourself and feel relaxed. The food is cooked to perfection, you will not be disappointed. The staff are the friendliest people and so so helpful. It's Family run which makes it even lovelier! Dog friendly too, water bowls dotted around for our furry friends. Inside and outside you are sitting in a beautiful picturesque setting with so much character. My partner and I have decided this is our FAVOURITE place ๐Ÿ’• and would 1000000% recommend this place!

This one I canโ€™t speak more highly of. The service was that I could expect in a high end London place. The prices albeit higher than the area still was very reasonable. The food I had was well presented. Since Iโ€™ve only eaten there once I canโ€™t really comment, but I do look forward to widening my experience to comment more fully. Well done.

Service was excellent. Food was nice but the chips were undercooked and a bit white for my liking. Steak was cooked to perfection. Overall it was a nice meal for me and my wife sat at side of the log burner.

Three of us called in for lunch. Decent menu and we opted for 2 of the hot roast beef + 1 hot sirloin sandwiches. All cooked well & accompanied with home made chips & salad. The sirloin was just right but my friends said the roast beef was a bit chewy .... Staff were nice and overall a decent lunch but could have been better.

Only our second visit, but we were in the area, and I was tempted to see if the E&C Burger I'd had on my last visit was as brilliant as I'd remembered the first time. It most definitely was. Strange really, because I rarely order a burger in a pub/restaurant, but this one is well worth the trip. My wife had the Halloumi burger which she also really enjoyed. We were made to feel very welcome by the landlady and her staff, and went away feeling very full and satisfied. A shame you're not on our doorstep, but we will definitely be back, at least to try some of the other items on the menu.

Lovely place for a Christmas meal! Nice cozy set up and the meal was lovely! The roasties were a little crispy but the Yorkshire Puddings more than made up for it!!! Gorgeous
