Never been here before, but my husband recommended this restaurant so we decided to visit for my birthday 🎈🎂.
We walked in and kindly got greeted by staff behind the bar.
Ordered our food by a very friendly and kind waitress (don't know her name) but I think she is there most days. The service was honestly fantastic, I absolutely couldn't fault anything with this place, we advised our daughter had a sesame allergy and they catered for her which was fantastic. The waitress checked us on us a few times which was really nice.
She does a fantastic job as do all the staff in this restaurant. The atmosphere was luvly and calming and the FOOD, Oh WOW! For myself it was the best birthday dinner I have had.
I would recommend this place to all, and to have gone there for the first time, it's spot on.

It's a real gem this one - whether you're a seafood lover or a meat lover, you'll be pleased. Top quality food and large portions at very reasonable prices. Talk about value for money! The cocktail menu is impressive as well.

Had a great time here! Food was absolutely delicious!!! My son thought he'd died and gone to heaven!! Everyone really enjoyed their food!! My ribs just fell off the bone and they happily will box up any leftovers to take home!! Happy hour deals were really good too!! The staff were so lovely! Would definitely recommend!! Will certainly come again when next in the area!!

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. Booking ahead is recommended as this is a small establishment and quite popular.
Staff are friendly and welcoming. They try to accommodate most dietary requirements if you let them know.
For our mains, we ordered the half dozen oysters, lobster (Pounder) and the Lobster Bake. Most dishes were well flavored.
Disappointingly though, most of it was overcooked. Both lobsters in particular were a bit rubbery in texture and could have come out a bit more tender and with some more moisture.
Otherwise, this was a pleasant dinner experience overall and recommended if you enjoy BBQ and seafood and you're in the Herne Bay area.

It's great here. Atmosphere and service have really been considered and as a result there is a lovely feel here. We both had the lobster box, and every part of it was amazing. Desserts were huge. Will be back!

Really enjoyed my meal here. Food was lovely and service excellent. My only regret is I didn't leave a tip! Apologies but we didn't have any cash at the end of our trip. I'll leave a nice review though. Would definitely go again. Thank you everyone there.

A great menu and drinks. Something a bit different. A very nice atmosphere and a great space that is relaxed but also a bit special too. I had a lovely evening with my husband. Great selection of cocktails too.

Nice food , very expensive for what you get . The chips and onion rings could be homemade at least .
I didn't like my cocktail £8.50 for a 2 mouthful cocktail .

A great find in Herne Bay. Quality BBQ plus an extensive and well curated cocktail list. Local beers also available. It was well worth our 40min walk in the rain to get there. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Popped in for some food which was very tasty but what made the visit better was the small bar area we sat at afterwards and had some fantastic cocktails (ok quite a few). It's a hidden gem, well priced and we will be back.

Very cozy relaxed place to have dinner. We thought it was very similar to an American styled food restaurant; ranging from ribs to Philly cheesesteaks! Lovely service, very attentive! If you are looking more for a seafood/local catch of the day sort of restaurant this may not be the place as it only offers crab, oysters and lobster in specific ways. Delish none the less!

Laid back culinary delights in HERNE BAY?!! 🦀🦞🍖🥗Fantastic food... generous portions of succulent seafood... sticky baby back ribs... tasty mac'n'cheese... the best lobster and crab I've had in the UK! Lovely attentive staff, cool atmosphere. Did I mention perfect fries... perfect! In all honesty I woke up the next morning thinking about how great the food was... and then the next day... and then the next day...

Really good meal today , we had nachos , calamari and ribs...all very nice, homemade coleslaw and beer battered onion rings. Saw a previous review about oven chips ...ours were not oven chips.
Huge portions , nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Chef bought the food out, again very friendly. Recommended some homemade sauces.
Overall good food, very good value for money and we will recommend and come again. Thankyou :)

We stumbled across the oyster and chop place whilst staying in Herne bay and i have to say this is one restaurant i will be coming back to. So accommodating fo my friend who is gluten intolerant, they know their stuff about what has and hasn't got wheat/barley as an ingredient. Plenty of food on the plate, if you fancy a well cooked dinner at a great price visit this place (worth booking as we noted it gets very busy)

First time eating here and I can say it won't be the last when I'm in the area. The food was amazing, I had the mixed grill and where it was smoked in house it was so tender. My Girlfriend had the giant king prawns and the in house sauce was fantastic. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to eat around the Herne Bay area.

Oyster chop house what aload of rubbish i get served oven chips and sprinkled with paprika..........these should be homemade surely ........? Steak was overcooked and over priced for what it was kids meals no bigger than what you would serve your cat so had to order extra portion of your finest oven chips highly wouldnt recommend.

I found my prawn dinner absolutely dry and tasteless, my husbands pork belly was a plate of slop, my sisters burger was so dry she needed water to swallow, and my other sisters chicken was barely cooked and was jelly like. All which was left, I wouldn't ever return.

I had jalapeno and cheese smoked sausages with chips, refried beans and coleslaw. Stuffed and it was only £8.50. Good service too. I would highly recommend this place, and that is coming from someone who is very picky.

None of the reviews earlier than about 3 months ago are relevant as it has changed and is a smokehouse now. Food pretty good. I had the chowder which was fab and the grill combo which was good if you like lots of meat. The food there is certainly plentiful, but presentation of the dishes could be improved, especially the desserts, which let them down at the end if I'm being honest. No decent restaurant should use squirty cream!
