If you're looking for something different from the usual 'pub grub' then give this place a try, food was amazing!!! Fantastic friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you..oh and a little gem of a hidden beer garden. Will definitely be paying you another visit when we return ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Looking for somewhere for lunch today while having a wander round, menu looked nice so decided to try it, lovely pub, friendly staff and the food was absolutely gorgeous, best fish finger sandwich ever not a place to ever walk past

Went along for the veggie / vegan evening last night, my first time to this pub since it was called The Heart of All England. Fantastic service from cheerful staff and I was really impressed with the menu; hummus to start, which was delicious, bean chill as a main course (lovely but could have handled some more chillies!) and a gorgeous sticky toffee pudding. As their vegan menu was so well done, I'm sure the 'normal' menu is also fantastic.

I love that every time I come in the staff are more than happy to give me some really delicious vegan options. The veggie and vegan nights are brilliant and we try to go to as many as we can. It’s a great spot to bring dogs too 😊

The food was absolutely amazing, I think the best Sunday lunch I've ever had! Succulent beef, cooked to perfection. The vegetables were crunchy, but not raw and the roast potatoes were delicious. The service was quite slow, bearing in mind not many customers, so that let them down slightly.

We were a group of ten and we'd booked at 3pm. The pub was busy but we were looked after and the food was definitely worth the wait. I had the silverside of beef that had been slow cooked...it was delicious with a really nice selection of vegetables. The dessert of a peanut butter slice and a flat white coffee ended a lovely lunch. Highly recommended.

A lovely place great staff tables cleaned before we sat down. Main meals are excellent and the Fish and Chips are amazing. Also good sandwich and burger menus. Felt really comfortable with table layout and the overall atmosphere. Prices are good as was the service. Also a good selection of local beers and other drinks. We have been before so we knew it be good.

You’ll have to book to avoid disappointment but needless to say we got lucky and got a tiny cosy table next to the fire and it was lovely on a cold day. We’ve been here before for other meals but decided let’s go for a Sunday Lunch! We both ordered the Beef as we fancied it, I got the smaller portion but it was enough to last me through the day. Plus we had bread that came from a local bakery as well for starters. I’m not a fan of pickles and red cabbage but I did manage to eat some, so not deducting points for this, I just moved it aside. Service was great from start to finish. Definitely will visit again in the future and will request for the table by the fire.

We had the Sunday roast and all enjoyed it immensely. Meat was well cooked, beautifully tender and tasty. Seasonal veg was also cooked just right, sometimes find veg with a little too much crunch or stewed to a pulp. Staff were very pleasant, cheerful and attentive without hovering over you. If we had to criticise anything it would be the position of the outside tables underneath hanging baskets that had recently been watered.

Booked Sunday lunch during a visit to Hexham, based upon other reviews. Lovely pub, located close to Hexham Abbey. We chose the smaller Sunday lunch option, which was still a substantial meal and under £10 per person. Great quality and wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended - book in advance to avoid disappointment.

It was late on the Sunday so it was very quiet. Food was nice and service was warm and friendly. It wasn't a pub I would have thought to head to for dinner but it's clearly had a complete refurb and definitely worth a visit if in Hexham and looking for low key food and a drink.

Beautiful part of the world and is well worth the, sometimes, difficult drive. Great places to see, walk, eat, and drink. Sycamore Gap is breathtaking, but it is a little bit of a walk and could be dangerous, so make sure you have the right footwear and clothing. There is a dedicated pay and display car park nearby. Make sure you give yourself plenty of daytime hours to get there and back. And beware of the free roaming cattle. They're big beasts, lol. Highly recommended, and I will definitely visit again 👍🏾
