I decided to go here as someone recommended it.
When you walk in, very very big space which was clean, bright and lots of people eating which is a good sign. Loads of screens with all the offerings and I went for a large fish and chips.
Service was friendly and easy and I only had to wait minutes for my food.
When I got home, it was ideal, chips cooked perfectly and the battered cod fish was large but felt a little bit greasy but not so much put you off it but the fish was tasty and cooked just right.
I’ll drop only one star as the price I paid didn’t match my expectations, not taking it away it was a good meal but felt a tad over priced for what it was.
Their decor is so on point.
The only authentic British Fish and Chips prepared by British lads. Chips were amazing not soggy as most are. Freshness is amazing!
This was recommended by someone who live close by so I decided to give it a try in rainy day, food is good. I only tried the cod and chips and it is as per my expectations. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Great service with attentive staff offering really nice food
Very nice fish and chips 😋
Food is consistently good and the staff are friendly and polite. Would have been a five except I used the delivery service lasts, and it was late. ( Still hot though )
Searching for a nearby chippy actually open on a Sunday (not easy around here), I found several with awful reviews, and then Churchill's. Though some reviews on here are mixed, I had a great experience. The shop is extremely clean, well appointed and well lit, you can see that they take pride in keeping both the customer area and the frying area clean and tidy, which is reassuring!
The food (cod & chips) was excellent - fresh fish, crispy batter, nice chips. I'm fussy about my fish & chips and was very pleased with the quality, which is the most important thing!
I will agree with others here that the wait was a while, but on a slow Sunday I'd rather wait for good, fresh-cooked food than have something that's been sat around for hours! This could maybe be sped up a little if customers were asked what they want by whoever is frying as soon as they enter the shop so it can go in the pan straight away, rather than waiting until they are being served at the till. The lad behind the till was perfectly pleasant and did his job, but wasn't what you'd call super friendly, chirpy customer service with a smile. However I wasn't going for entertainment or a chat, but for a decent meal, and on that they more than delivered!
I was also very pleased to find that there wasn't a scrap of disposable plastic in the take-away packaging - a cardboard box stopped the fish from getting squished, chips were wrapped in paper, and all kept together in a sturdy brown paper bag. That gets a big thumbs up from me! Nothing went particularly soggy on the journey home, either, which was nice.
Though I have an adequate chippy walking distance from me, I'm likely to make the 10 minute car ride to Churchills in future..... Parking is easy and the food was great!
OMG. This was recommended to us by several people and just had a take out tonight. Best fish and chips I have ever had. Absolutely no grease and really well cooked. I am also a coeliac, so to find somewhere that does gluten free fish and chips on Monday and Tuesday, and does it so well locally is fantastic. Well done to the staff.....absolutely delicious!!
Best fish and chips I've had in a long time served by the lovely baz
Lovely fish and chips, very enjoyable. Disappointed that they did not read the special instructions on the Web order and so had to wait a further 15 minutes for my order past allotted order time.
