I've never frequented this establishment, and when my friend booked a table for the nine of us, he was a little anxious as to what to expect.I said"Im sure it will be fine". And sure enough it was. In fact it was "excellent " we all of us throughly enjoyed our meals,my steak and ale pie with creamy mash and buttered kail along with a small measure of the ale that was inside the pie(lovely touch) ingenious!!!was absolutely delicious, followed by apple and gooseberry crumble(just like my mum used to make). Our waitress (Maddie) was so nice, and friendly(A real credit to the Oaks). We go out as a group(at least once a month),and I know we've booked again for the near future (and I for one I'm very much looking forward to our second visit). And I am positive that The Oaks will become a regular eatery. Thank you to everyone for making our evening so enjoyable. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger "we'll be back"😃😃😃😃

Edit. Just been again and still excellent standard of food and service. Very pleased. Lovely atmosphere inside and outside they have built gorgeous beach huts for that al fresco dining under cover. We went there for a second time to celebrate a birthday and they were very attentive, bringing a prosecco for the birthday person. We had time to order 2 for 1 cocktails before 7pm and the food was excellent all round including the vegetarian options. However having been twice, there aren't any more vegetarian options to try but there are many meat dishes. They allowed dogs inside probably because it was a quiet Monday night but if you can't go inside, I recommend trying the beach huts as they have heating. Its a little pricey on drinks so take advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktails between 5 and 7pm .

We were on a family holiday for the week and ended up visiting here 3 times! It was perfect for the children, us and the grandparents - suiting all our needs. Staff were very attentive - we moved tables 3 times during our final visit to hide from and then chase the sun and this was no problem at all. Food was delicious and enjoyed by all, my son particularly enjoying the children’s burger - even better since the kids ate for free. Would highly recommend a visit (or three! ;) )

Everything was lovely. We had a very bright and airy table inside and the service was prompt and friendly. Menu was fairly compact which is often a sign that the food is cooked well rather than trying to do too many dishes badly. Food was tasty... our table had short rib, steak and ale pie, and a couple of very nicely cooked and presented fish dishes. Don't take my four stars to mean don't go; Do go. There was plenty of space at 1pm on a sunny Saturday, which surprised me a little (although we had booked in advance anyway). Will go again, perhaps for dinner instead.

Absolutely delectable high quality food at very reasonable prices for a top chef. The meals never leave you bloated, it's just right and all done to perfection. The drinks are great too. The interiors here are lovely and there are also beach huts which you can dine at or you can sit under a canopy tent or inside. Staff and manager are superb.

A relaxed pub restaurant. The service was exceptional and the food was even better. I had the short rib and the meat was tender and fell straight off the bone. The price was very good for the quality. They had a good selection of local beers, but only one cider which was a shame.

We decided to give The Oaks a try even after reading negative reviews but our experience was far from that! The quality of food was excellent, along with the service and the bar and outdoor areas are great! I wish I'd visited before as even though its my local the reviews put me off! I will definitely be returning as soon as possible!

Nice good sized restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The latter includes 'beach huts' which i am sure kids would love. We ate off regular menu but there were some interesting daily specials. Good service and we all enjoyed our meals that came nice and hot. Some of my favourite beers on tap which was a plus.

Highly recommend The Oaks! Lovely pub inside & out. Great drinks menu, 2-4-1 offers and all the food was lovely. The staff are fantastic. We hired the tent for my birthday party with around 40 of us and it couldn't have been better. Thank you so much, can't wait to come back again!
