Review The Fox And Goose - Highwood

This pub has a very lovely feel to it. Well decorated, clean, classy, but most importantly with great food. I haven’t tried many Sunday roasts in UK but out of the ones I tried this was definitely my favourite. We had the super roast (3 meats and all equally tasty) which comes with a HUGE Yorkshire pudding and veggies on the side. Service was really good as well with the food arriving promptly. Next time we will definitely try the dessert.

A lovely Gastro Pub with very good service, very helpful with children too. The food came out very quickly and with big portions. Very delicious food, will definitely return and will be recommending to family and friends. We went on a Sunday and had a lovely round table in the middle of the room which meant we could all see each other and were able to talk to each other. The menu was great with lots of different options and they had a great menu for children too. Very reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive.

Stopped here for food on a cold Saturday evening after our walk in a park nearby. Very welcoming service and atmosphere, cosy and rural style with fireplace. Food portions were generous and taste was great. Recommend it.

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch here. The place was heaving from the moment it opened! The food tasted amazing and the service was excellent. I can understand why you need to book in advance!

Just stopped here for a quick lunch and have been surprised by the nice location and the good food they offer. We ordered from the Bake house menu, which has a good selection of pub standards. Try the pork crackling - they are amazing! Staff is polite, knowledgeable and quick. We will definitely come back!

Enthusiastic and efficient staff, good vibe presented because I believe they all do actually care! Food is tasty, well presented and just enough. I've never been a fan of "Wetherspoons style" ordering somewhere and paying for it there, giving a table number and hoping the table's still free when you get back to it, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. There's so many staff running around, and with healthy prices - I'm surprised they can't take orders at the table - inside at least. I saw a gentleman getting up to find where to order their deserts from - to me that's in the middle of a meal. Having said that the place is bursting at the seams with customers so, perhaps it doesn't matter to the owners eh. The Wetherspoons food ordering method feels a bit McDonalds'esq to me but the good food and staff may draw us in for a second trial.

Really, really good food. Excellent presentation and service, with the beef brisket winning the day. Chicken pie was lovely too and all the specials on the board sounded great. Only let down was the cheeky way our order was taken - it's not a big deal but I was offered mushy or regular peas with my dish giving the assumption they were part of it and included; not an extra/side option (I hadn't seen them as an extra). When the bill came I was disappointed that the manager who took our order wasn't upfront about it as I genuinely thought they came with the plate. Otherwise, nice experience overall.

Excellent BLT. Clever set up - you can choose a cafe or gastropub experience in the same location.

We went here for our sons 30th birthday. Staff very friendly. Food very good. Some portions could be bigger! Such as mash potatoes. And vegetables.

I visited The Fox and Goose with a group of friends. The atmosphere of the pub was cosy and relaxing. The staff were very attentive and friendly. All thr food was delicious and worth the money paid. The prices are on the higher end of the scale for pub food but the quality and taste of the food is worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Had a delicious savoury afternoon tea @bakehousecoffeeshop yesterday with my mum. It was our first time eating out since the start of the Lockdown and it was well worth the wait and great service too! 😋🥪🧆🥧☕ #afternoontea #bakehousecoffeeshop #homemade #delicious #savory #bestsconesever
