Review Hintlesham Hall - Hintlesham

Love your hotel. We have been coming here for some years. Maybe 6 or 7. It's such a lovely place to stay. Everything you do is great. For example in the room; fluffy towels, comfortable bed, lovely homemade biscuits, a range of delicious teas. Home from home.

We were celebrating a special birthday. The room was a large principal double room and was exceptional. The evening meal was excellent and the breakfast was just right. The staff were lovely. Only point to mention was my husband had asked if we could extend check-out by a couple of hours and we could for £50 which we thought was too pricey so didn’t.

A stunning location and architecture, made better by incredible details in the time, improved by the constant high quality, polite and friendly service, improved by the best dinning experience available in the area. A fantastic hotel, thanks so much for a memorable stay

Loved our room the 'Regatta' décor was beautiful, room clean and well presented, waiters at dinner were polite, smart and attentive. The meal was very well presented and tasty. The waitress at breakfast was so nice, attentive and very smart. All in all an amazing visit I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends, thank you.

Lovely place to stay, elegant, welcoming, and relaxing, even as a lone female traveller. I will definitely return when next in the area. Staff were friendly and the facilities were first class.

We had afternoon tea for a party of 15, in the Garden Room. It was delightful, the room is very comfortable and the sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea/coffee was amazing. Excellent service, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Hintlesham Hall👏

Treated to afternoon tea and an overnight stay in a luxury room for a special birthday. Simply can't fault the place. Lovely but very accessible setting; attentive but not intrusive staff and an exceptional afternoon tea (and I've had a few). All followed up by a delicious breakfast.

On this occasion I stayed as a single person but couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. I had an excellent room (Manon), very comfortable, ground floor but there are three steps up from the Living Room to Bathroom which some people may find a little tricky. However, Reception do seem to take this into account when allocating rooms.

Stayed here over night after 70th birthday and Golden Wedding anniversary meal with 25 friends and family. We had hired the Parlour room. Food outstanding as were the waiting staff. Very attentive and polite. However very disappointed with the events team booked this meal approx 6 months ago hardly any communication within the time between booking and arrival on the 26th January. Any communication was initiated by ourselves. We booked into the hotel but although there was an event person on duty they never spoke to us so we had to sort things ourselves. Not sure if I would want to organise anything else at the hotel which is a shame.!!!!!

Wow! What an amazing 2 day stay! It was my birthday and our anniversary, a fantastic upgrade with beautiful swans on the bed awaited us, the personal letter was a lovely touch! All the facilities in the room you would need- big comfortable bed. Everything was perfect! Added to that- every member of staff were attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble at all! All dietary requirements met without fuss, again nothing was too much trouble! The food was so good, very well executed, well balanced dishes and good quality ingredients. A lovely touch with the candle in my Eaton Mess and marzipan ‘happy Anniversary’ scroll. Thank you for the best hotel stay!

Spent a night here for my husbands birthday. Upon arrival we met the lovely Katy at reception. She was outstanding from start to finish even when dealing with a grumpy customer in front of us. Nothing was too much trouble and she even left a box of chocolates with a hand written note in our room. Food was amazing and the staff were absolutely fab. We will definitely be back again soon to spend another night or two in this beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location. Thank you 🙂

Used a voucher for an afternoon tea. The young lady who served us was very pleasant and friendly. The afternoon tea was delicious with a variety of sandwiches, cakes and of course, scones with jam and clotted cream. The young lady even allowed me to put my feet on a chair, after a recent operation I had....thank you, my husband and I had a lively time.

My husband and I had the most wonderful day and night at the Hintelsham Hall Hotel. Everything about it was just so lovely, the building, the room, gardens, restaurant, lounge and all of the staff were absolutely faultless from start to finish. Jade and Vicky in the restaurant were 1st class and the lady on reception (I regret not catching her name) was so friendly. We really didn't want to leave and will definitely return in the near future hopefully for a longer stay as 1 night simply wasn't long enough. Thank you to everyone at the hotel who made our stay a very pleasant one. 😊

We chose Hintlesham Hall Hotel for our wedding venue based on a number of factors including the setting, the packages they could offer and most importantly its reputation for good quality food. We opted for the Exclusively Yours package. People say that organising a wedding is very stressful. We can honestly say that was not the case based on our experience. Having the ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception at one venue removes a lot of the logistics and planning, plus our guests could stay with us at the venue. It was great seeing everybody the following morning, even if a little worse for wear!! Tracy Carter at Hintlesham Hall has a wealth of experience, and it shows at every stage. Her knowledge and advice was spot on. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. Everything went perfect and like clockwork. Tracy and her team no doubt were working hard in the background on the day, organising their own staff and working with third party’s (Iona Thomas - Harpist, Red & Black Casinos, The Party Starters - disco). All the staff were excellent throughout the day/evening. We wish that we could name them all and personally thank them. The feedback from all our guests is five star. We have not had any negative feedback, nor criticism. The wedding breakfast was excellent as was the evening buffet and canapés. If we could do it again we would. We would highly recommend - Luke & Matt

Stayed at Hintlesham Hall last Saturday for the wedding of Simon Tingey and Sarah Mitchell. What a wonderful place. The building is stunning, the bedrooms very comfortable, the food was gorgeous and the staff were very helpful and there whenever they were required. Would definitely recommend Hintlesham Hall as a venue.

In all honestly 5 stars just isn't enough to express the overall experience of our visit. Hintlesham Hall was the choice setting for my Son and Daughter in laws wedding, This 15th century building is beautifully kept, the rooms ample and clean, the staffing at all levels is second to none in both courtesy and availability and the grounds are just gorgeous. The idyllic place to make a fairy tale wedding come true? absolutely YES.The staff here work hard and it shows, all of the wedding guests commented on how lovely it was bare in mind it was a big wedding. The wedding breakfast was superb, the waiting staff quick. Thank you for helping to make their wedding day flow effortlessly I know everyone will remember it I Highly recommend

Had a one night stay, the Staff in the Restaurant/Bar were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble and we had a superb meal. We stayed in The Gallery (Junior Suite) which was in need of a little TLC. The room was far too hot, 2 blinds were not working and the carpeting has seen better days! The reception staff were a little lacking in customer skills, we were not told where to go for the restaurant even when when we explained we had not been there before. The walk from the courtyard rooms to the main reception was badly lit and we were surprised health and safety had not looked into this.

We visited this week for our wedding trial meal plus final planning meeting with Tracy. It went very well, the food was superb with an excellent post meal chat with the chef. Tracy was so well organised and they even managed to get a 'cake' for my birthday. Never stayed here but interesting previous comments about rooms needing TLC and being a bit 'tired are concerning.

We have just returned from a one night stay at this lovely hotel! I booked for a birthday treat for my fiance, and we couldn't fault a thing. Thank you so much for the upgraded room to celebrate the occasion (Rosette) which was absolutely huge, great views, amazing bed (so comfy!) and bath and everything we could have asked for. We ate in the hotel restaurant - divine. Staff were amazing in the restaurant, and throughout our whole stay, friendly, chatty and knowledgeable. Afternoon tea was delicious, a great selection of cakes and sandwiches, with a fantastic hot chocolate, even an added Happy Birthday plaque! Decor was dated but surely that's the whole point of staying in a old English estate home - we thought it was perfect. Overall we couldn't fault a thing, thank you so so much for a brilliant weekend and we can't wait to come back again :) Dan and Lucy x

I first stayed here in the summer on a cycling holiday. It made a wonderful last night of the holiday - my room was lovely and the meal I ate in the dining room couldn't be faulted. The staff were totally attentive but unobtrusively so. I knew that it would be exactly the right place to celebrate my son's 21st birthday and so we booked a meal there last weekend. Again the food and service were exemplary, there was a pianist playing throughout the evening which gave a special touch and the whole ambiance was very relaxing. We felt very well taken care of. My son enjoyed it as much as I did and we will definitely be coming back.

Our favourite place for Sunday lunch & special occasions, been coming 2/3 times a year since 2009, would be more but find it hard to book with all the weddings taking place in spring & summer, can't wait until our next visit, always greeted with a warm welcome, staff are very polite nothing too much trouble x

We had a one night stay in a superior room as a xmas gift. Lovely hotel, very tranquil and relaxing. We are in the restaurant for dinner, food good, hot. Excellent service and must say unusual to go to a hotel and every member of staff be smiley, polite and helpful. They were all great. Rooms good. Would recommend.
