Review Cegin Glo - Hirwaun

The previous bad reviews for this place almost made me not go in.. But we were so hungry after our long drive and zip lines that we decided to "risk it"... But it was absolutely fine! We did order via the website (there is a QR code on each table to scan) it's easy.... Drinks were brought out within 5 minutes and the food followed about 10 minutes later Staff were efficient and polite. The food was tasty ( the speed of service made me suspect it was semi-pre-prepared - but nevertheless it was good.) The sun was shining so we sat outside and enjoyed the views of the Brecons. Why not 5 stars? 1: the price... It is pricey. 10-20% cheaper and it would be spot on 2: the food could have been slightly hotter. Overall good. Judging by the earlier bad reviews they seem to have improved the service.

Phoenix zipline was wonderful, most fun I'd had in a while. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the service. We arrived about half an hour before our booking time was so thought we would get food. kitchen took about half an hour to get the good so we had to put most of it in takeaway boxes. however when we queued up for the safety briefing, it took a good nother half hour to get in there.

Had a 3 course meal here Saturday 5th march 2022 and it was fabulous! We had amazing views of the mountain scenery one side and the zip line the other side. Food was delicious, we can't wait to come back again, especially when weather is milder to sit outside with our dog. The decor is modern and interesting, we love how it's used the mining as it's theme, we couldn't stop looking around at all the details.

My family and I stopped by on the way past to check out the zip line and popped into Cegin Glo for food. I had the Buffalo Chicken and it was absolutely delicious!! The spicy buffalo sauce and the blue cheese mayo together were perfect. Loved the chips and the home made coleslaw is some of the best I have had in a while. Must say, the restaurant itself is really cool inside and the views were amazing. Staff were friendly and willing to help and we will definitely be coming back again!

Not sure about previous reviews but personally found this place a pleasure. Occasionally a short wait on food as it gets busy at peak times but the view and watching the zip liners arrive back eats up the waiting time. Dog friendly and friendly staff. Crispy Beef is my favourite and the coffee ain't bad. All good in my book.
