Review The Bank House - Hixon

This was our first visit to the Bank House. It had been highly recommended by friends. I can honestly say that this is an amazing little gem of a place. We know our food & this place has a humble menu, which delivers big. Which is refreshing after many, many post covid disappointments. There was eight of us dining and not a bad meal between us. I can strongly recommend the Blade of Beef, Seafood Tagliatelle & the best Pork Belly I have had in many years. Deserts were not shy in their portions & tasted great. I can say this, as I was full after a great starter & main…. but managed to dip a fork into everyone else’s desert for research purposes. I was informed they kept a good pint and a well chosen red by someone who obviously knows their wine there, meant we had a 2015 red for £32 on the table. Amazing! It was a fabulous meal at a very decent price. Thank you to all the staff for their quick service and friendly welcoming smiles too. We had an amazing dining experience. Credit where credit due and we will be back.

Fantastic place. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and contemporary interior with a relaxed atmosphere. Food is amazing. The Chef and kitchen team are clearly dedicated and produce a wonderful choice of expertly prepared and flavoursome dishes. Cheesecake is out of this world. Highly recommended!

It was a very quiet Saturday lunch, hence the reduced atmosphere rating, however the restaurant was spotlessly clean and the service excellent. The choice of food was very good and portion sizes generous, there is an option for smaller plate meals too. As the only vegan in the group I was initially disappointed with the menu, but when I asked which meals could be adapted was pleasantly surprised at the choice and effort they went too to accommodate me, thank you. The deserts too were beautifully presented and the lemon sponge with raspberry sorbet was a wonderful treat. Would recommend.

Great service from all the staff. Friendly welcoming atmosphere. Wow what can I say about the food apart from beautiful, would highly recommend from a romantic meal for two, too sharing good times with friends. Simple excellent!

Visited whilst spending some time with the family. Lovely food, we had mains from the Winter menu and included Chicken Kiev, Seafood Tagliatelle, Gammon Steak as well as a Mac and Cheese, all very good. lovely service and a nice pint, highly recommended.

We were recommended the Bank House by a friend. We've now been 3 times in as many weeks. The food is excellent if a little over generous in portion size. The steaks are particularly good.The service is very good and for what you get, it's excellent value for money.

Near excellent experience. Popped in for Sunday lunch on a whim. Was amazed by the courteous service that made me feel wanted and invited. Food was also very good. Would recommend the Bank House, Hixon to anyone in the area.

Meals are great and the food is cooked well. It’s also a great place to pop into just for a drink with a friendly local atmosphere which can be hard to find these days.

This place was recommended by a local. Called in for a simple lunch, couldn’t resist the steak ciabatta, it was truly delightful, made with love, my pint of cask ale was really good too. Will look forward to revisiting

Best hand made pie I've ever had, service superb by lovely staff and prices reasonable. All four of us had different meals and all cooked perfectly... Couldn't fault the place and happy to recommend this establishment to anyone.

Wow what a fantastic meal last night with my husband daughter and son in law as soon as we entered the pub it was so warm and friendly felt at home straight away the staff was so good and friendly I must say the steak was one of the best I’ve ever had everything was perfect from start to finish will definately be returning can’t wait would the pub and the food to everyone �

The most beautiful food I've had in a long time! The mushroom starter was probably the best starter I've ever had, the onion loaf was so tasty and the steak was cooked perfectly! I also asked for a stilton and mushroom sauce which didn't appear on the menu but it wasn't too much trouble at all. The staff also made it great, they were all so lovely :)

Another incredible meal at the Bank House tonight. The arancini starter was amazing and the main courses blew the arancini away. I had the satay chicken which was better than anything I've ever had from any Chinese restaurant and my wife had the chicken carbonara which she struggled to describe because it was so good. The food is at such a high standard that we really are running out of superlatives! Long may that continue. Combine that with the fantastic choice of drinks and great staff and you've got yourself a winning formula. Thank you Lewis Partnership.

We had a meal on Saturday afternoon which was ok but I thought the portion sizes could have been larger for the price £11.50 for fish with a few chips with mushy peas and the sweet was bakewell tart which had no pastry and no almond taste to it at all was also very powdery texture to it.. New menu needs to cater more for children too as we didn't see a child's menu.. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Really enjoyed my meal, it was presented well and cooked to perfection. However as a person with a dairy allergy i was disappointed there wasnt one dairy free option on the desert menu or much flexibility in terms of substitutions :-(

Went for my husband's birthday meal. Our first time and we loved it. The food was top notch. One grumble....the price of my drink was £8.10! I asked if they do any fizz and was advised they have 20cl bottles of prosecco. Maybe you could advise of price at this time so the customer can make an informed choice? We will definitely return, but be sure to avoid the prosecco.

Fantastic family 3 course xmas eve meal , every course thoroughly enjoyed .great service and atmosphere . Icing on the cake was my 10 year old son having 3 dairy free courses , with a severe allergy eating out is rare but with reassurances about contamination he not only had a great meal but lots of choices which were so good it was hard to believe he could have ( especially the yummy pudding ) Thank you so much see you again soon

Had a lovely meal again tonight. The grill night is brilliant value for money. A big thumbs up from a visitor from Australia too!!

Had a meal today at thr bankhouse ..not been since it changed hands ..n i wasnt disappointed ..such lovely service ..and the food was extremely tasty ..me n my mum had the roast turkey which was extremely moist ..beautifully cooked ..and plenty of it ..i really enjoyed it and thought it was much better than most carveries ive been to ..my son n dad had fish n chips n that looked as lovely as it tasted ..our puddings also hit the spot ..i had the bread n butter pudding with icecream ..it all was really nice ..will def be back for another meal ..

My husband and I regulary drink/eat in here. Becky, Ryan and the team are always very welcoming, and the food is top notch - always well cooked and very tasty. Well done for creating such a great atmosphere and brilliant service - keep up the good work guys �

Had a lovely meal last night, although menu is a bit disappointing and too much the same as the other Lewis partnership places. Would be nice to see them all different.

Just had family lunch today. Service was excellent. Food was amazing and despite being busy, staff didn’t usher us in and out. First visit but won’t be our last. Our entire party were impressed and want to come again. �

Excellent meal, had a complimentary bottle of Prosecco as it was my birthday. The service was amazing & all the staff were very pleasant
