Camaleon Cafe

Stopped by around 4pm for a late lunch. The BLT was good, so were the fries. 1 star because the fried chicken, advertised in the KOA’s pamphlet that it’s “homemade” was frozen in the middle. Not a big deal but the waitress didn’t show any remorse or give any apology. When we got there and were asking for recommendations she basically told us to look at the menu for their “featured” items. Anyways, wouldn’t recommend.

Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. We got the Chile strip burger and the guacamole chicken sandwich. Both were great, and the tater tots were 💯. It was so good we got breakfast there, and everything was delicious. If you’re stopping here for the forest we would recommend grabbing food here. It’s a hole in the wall but probably the best about Holbrook proper (aside from the petrified wood!)

Our experience was great with food and staff. We didn't want a chain brand and we googled and found this place. Small and locally-owned owned,we were sold. These Ladles,handled the place like bosses! Great friendly service and fast. I liked our food,special- French Toast,Eggs,Bacon. Enough food for me. My family like the food and coffee was on point,especially bc I hate waiting on a refill. She was on it! Great job,we shall visit while in town. Thanks

Worst driving through experience. The lady was super rude and condescendant. She made mistakes on what we ordered, on purpose, not making any effort on understanding us. The order was not complicated tho, 2 coffees, 2 breakfast menus, we only got 1 breakfast and the coffees. She was looking over our shoulder when filling the receipt with tips, and announcing 20min of waiting only after paying. We left the property right away, just worried about them spitting on our food. Some money wasted but maybe for the best. I don’t know for the staff inside, but this lady was really bad.

Definitely a hole in the wall/locals kind of place. When traveling I enjoy stopping in little places. Friendly staff. The food was good and generous portions. I got the special of the day which was only $6. It included chips and salsa, three beef tacos, rice, and beans. I really liked that they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner at night. Wide variety on their menu. No kids menu but my two little ones shared three pancakes which were quite tasty! The chicken chimichanga was huge and yummy. Weird little tidbit... they had really good chewy ice! If you like to crunch ice you know what I mean.
