Polite attentive staff we was waited on by the assistant manager who was very nice, we had the 2 course deal for Sunday dinner I had the starter of the pate it was gorgeous and just right amount of toast to go with it, the meals were fab just right size portions with biggest Yorkshire puddings I have ever seen and they melt in your mouth would definitely eat here again love it

5* not good enough. Had my wedding here and it was the best day. Organised by Mel who was wonderful from start to finish. Food was great and all staff were attentive. Can not thank everyone here enough.
Great venue been to wedding reception ,brilliant stayed over and enjoyed great breakfast. Enjoyed a couple of meals in restaurant the latest yesterday when zI was pursuaded to try beef burger ,fries, salad, onion rings and coleslaw,it was the best burger I have ever had, would definitely recommend it. Looking forward to April as going to wedding and reception and staying over again. 😄🎉🏆😋
We just got married here and it was awesome!
Melissa, Harriett and the team were fantastic!
We asked a lot questions but they were always more than happy to help!
The food was amazing, the rooms were brilliant and the wedding room was flawless!
Can’t recommend this place and this amazing team highly enough!
Well, what can I say, to be fair not sure there's enough words. Our stay was amazing from start to finish.
The whole establishment is beautiful, warm and welcoming. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and spotless.
Food was outstanding, their famous cheese and onion pie is highly recommended.
But the best thing about The Huntsman is the staff, everyone was so warm and friendly, an absolute pleasure to have a chat and a laugh with, and they literally couldn't do enough for you. We can't wait for our next visit
Fantastic room. Super clean and had everything we needed. Excellent choice of tea and coffee, only downside not enough milk!!! Easily fixed as more given when asked. Meal downstairs was excellent. Very friendly staff who attended our every need. Food was cooked well and presented beautifully
Nice overnight stop in van, they allow free parking if you buy food in the pub, you are asked to park in the overflow car park, no marked spaces, so take your pick.
If you need them, they also have rooms for the night. We saw a special deal, wine, dine and duvet from £130. Presume that certain nights may add a premium on, not sure when.
There were 4 normal van campers, near us, as well as a huge motorhome, plenty of space. Toilets available in the bar during open hours only.
There is a slight incline on the car park, but not too bad. The road passing next to the pub is busy throughout the night but not excessive.
Sheep in the field behind, lovely peaceful view to wake up to.
Food in the pub was excellent, reasonable prices, plenty of choice.
Dogs are allowed in parts of it, there is even an option to buy boar and venison chewy sticks for your furry companions, and the furniture and decor is lovely.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had a lovely stay at the Huntsman Inn. We were warmly greeted and checked in quickly. The Inn was nice and cosy and our room was very spacious, nice and clean, with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We had our evening meal at the Inn and could not fault the food or service. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choice including cereals, fruit, yogurt, nuts and fantastic cooked breakfast options. Four stars were given for the location as it is a little isolated. Great if you enjoy walking. This was perfect for our stay, quiet, peaceful and relaxing.
My friend's son got married here last July which I was told was amazing. Today we decided to go for lunch. A fantastic experience. Food was excellent. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, especially Samantha. Would highly recommend.
This is a great country pub/hotel to visit. Close enough to a town (Holmfirth) if you need the amenities, but far enough to offer a sense of remoteness. The staff were very friendly and professional, with nothing being too much bother. The rooms were clean and I enjoyed the biscuits and miniature toiletries which are becoming rare at other hotels. We had dinner and breakfast on-site and these were generous and tasty.
The location is great for walks in the peak district and visiting picturesque towns and villages. There is a large car park for on-site parking. Well worth a visit.
Stayed here many times over the years.
Excellent as always with excellent food menu at a good price. The rooms are always top notch and the staff always helpful and friendly. Would recommend if visiting Holmfirth. Oh and if you have a dog they are welcome and even have a treat menu of their own.
We stayed for a charity event being held in the function suite. However the whole experience was exceptional! From a cheerful greeting as we walked in the door, to helpful staff at every point of contact.
The location is stunning, moorland all around and close to Holmfirth that has some lovely places to visit.
We stayed in a comfy double. The bed was one of the best we have ever had in a hotel. The pillows just right for a great sleep.
The food and drink were exceptional at each point. Even at the large function, the food was fresh and tasty.
The breakfast had everything we wanted, however an absolute stand out was the omelette Arnold Bennett! I have never had this before but a really outstanding addition to a breakfast menu. Certainly one I will try to recreate!
Thank you for such a lovely 24 hours and we will be back soon.
Stayed overnight on Sunday, what a lovely place! A warm welcome on arrival and was able to check straight into our room despite being early. Our room was lovely with a gorgeous view of the moors. Spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you'd need. Had drinks in the bar in the evening and the staff were great, excellent breakfast the next morning would return without any hesitation 😊
My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Huntsman Inn, very comfortable stay, great value for money. Great food and great staff with lovely views from our room. Entertainment was great too as a charity show was on the night we stayed. We will definitely stay again.
My husband and I went for an early evening meal. It was lovely and prices were reasonable. Service was quick and the staff very friendly. The restaurant setting on Saddleworth moors is just amazing. Parking is good
What a brilliant find - our group consisted of 2 couples. One couple stayed in the hotel & the other stayed in their motorhome in the car park.
We all had a lovely time, the rooms were lovely. The service & staff were great from the moment we arrived to when we left.
We all ate in the restaurant for our evening meal & all had breakfast in the morning.
All the food was very well presented & tasted as good as it looked.
We will definitely be coming back
My stay was a real treat. Staff were efficient and friendly. There was a lovely atmosphere. The food was fabulous. My bed was comfortable. What else do you need on a short break?
Absolutely gorgeous room with views of the Pennines, beams on the ceiling, a stunning room. The bed was comfy, the room was just the right temperature. Overall a perfect stay. We loved it that much we booked a room for another stay before we left. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this hotel enough. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast has a lot of choice.
We stayed in motor home in the overflow carpark. Staff & food excellent. Even gave us wine glasses so we didn’t have to use our plastic ones in the van. Will definitely recommend & return
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Huntsman Inn, nestled perfectly between Manchester and Huddersfield, and it exceeded all expectations. From the warm and inviting staff to the breathtaking surroundings, every aspect of our stay was memorable.
The exceptional service began with the young chap at the reception on Friday late night. His helpful and polite demeanor set the tone for our entire visit. It's truly the small gestures that make a stay special, and he went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. With special recognition to the lady who took care of us during Breakfast. Her warmth and inviting nature made us feel right at home.
The hotel itself is a testament to thoughtful design, seamlessly blending modern comfort with the character of the building. It felt like a home away from home. The decor throughout the hotel is tastefully done, perfectly complementing the overall ambiance. The Huntsman Inn manages to capture the essence of comfort and luxury in a way that few places can. The views surrounding the hotel are simply stunning, providing a peaceful and tranquil backdrop that adds to the overall charm of the place.
I highly recommend the Huntsman Inn to anyone seeking a memorable and serene getaway between Manchester and Huddersfield. It's not just a place to stay; it's an experience that leaves you refreshed and rejuvenated. Looking forward to my next visit to this hidden gem.
Went for an educational conference trip in Holmfirth. Stayed here for one night and it was worth every penny. Clean rooms. Good food. Brilliant atmosphere.
