A lovely family-owned business, with outdoor seating and view on the marshes and the sea. The crab 🦀 salad is delicious and great value for money : £12 for a plate full of local seafood and homemade salads. It's a cash only establishment, not ideal in this day and age, but the owners were very accommodating and agreed to open a tab and be paid the next day. We came back the next day and had the same again ! Probably one of the best crab shops in Norfolk, and there's quite a few of them.
As always, fantastic food, fantastic service and lovely views.
Hyper local food doesn't get better than this.
Be aware, this is very busy place and so you may not always get a table, but why not have a take-away on the village green instead.
It is cash only, but this is one of the ways they are keeping the prices so unbelievably reasonable.
Really fantastic food. We had the Crab royal salad. Really fresh. Smoked fish was something else and will be defiantly hard to beat.
Visited Cookies on the last day of our holiday. I wish I had visited in my first day so I could keep going back. It was a beautiful summer's day and it felt like we were sat outside a Greek taverna. The food was delicious, had to buy some to bring home😋😋😋
Very friendly, informal and a bit quirky. Very clean. We sat outside in the sun and looked across the marshes to the sea. Bliss!
So understated and easy to miss. I can’t believe their prices are so good still. Perfect seafood eat there outside or in the little cafe or takeaway. Such a special place and one I always want to visit when up this way.
Really recommend a visit. Had a delicious crab platter/salad, the freshest seafood at great prices, far better value than many other places we ate at in the area. The staff were friendly, accommodating in finding us a table though we didn't reserve, and very efficient. Lovely little tables outside to enjoy the sun and the view to the coast.
It is cash only here, and no loo available on-site. Some reviews I've seen seem unhappy about that but it's a small and local little crab shack, not a restaurant, so it is what it is. Worth reserving a table as it's extremely popular!
A hidden jewel! Amazing salad platter for just £12. Can't complain about any of it. Simply delicious. I'm a convert to anchovies & cockles. Never been my thing before but the way this dish is served, it was all fresh/ freshly cooked and ALL good!
Visited Cookies for the fifth time as a visitor from Adelaide in South Australia & wouldn’t miss coming back when ever in the UK.
Excellent food & service as well as being good value for money. The unique set up says a lot about what the proprietors hold dear to them, which is authentic food in an environment that they have created as a one off experience.
Keep up the good work guys & have no hesitation in recommending Cookies Crab shop.
What an amazing seafood cafe! A family business that was established in 1956, the owners were very knowledgeable, and we learnt a lot about the local area and places to visit. It is such a shame that places like this are under threat from 'incomers' who don't understand the local way of life.
PLEASE visit, have some delicious seafood, and save a wonderful local business from closure
