The Star Inn

It's a Wetherspoons. You get what you paid for. Although saying that, they had run out of the large fish and offered me an alternative, which I was happy with. My daughter ordered bacon and cheese with her burger which didn't arrive until I told them it was missing. And her dessert had the chocolate sauce missing, which we just let slide. I'd still go back though.

Well, we stopped off in Honiton as part of a journey from Plymouth to London. But apparently Honiton is closed on a Sunday. A very kind landlady in one of the pubs in the high street explained they only do Sunday roasts but recommended the Wetherspoon pub. We sat outside The Star Inn in the garden which is a nice sun trap. The Wetherspoon app worked well (which is more than many other pubs) the food arrived quickly and was tasty. We left Honiton with a mental note to try another of the towns on the A303 for our next trip.

All fairly good for the price but WHY CAN NO WETHERSPOONS EVER SERVE HOT FOOD???? Nearly always has to go back because it's only luke warm. Thus is infuriating if 2 of you are waiting fir food to be re-cooked/heated if the other person's is ok so they start & have nearly finished by the time the other food comes back!!!! Oh & WHY are the loos up do many stairs in every place??? Waiting fir staff to get/find the radar key when your 5 year old needs the loo is infuriating so you tramp up & down the stairs hoping you make it in time - sometimes twice during a meal!!!! Make it more family friendly - PLEASE!
