What can I say about this wonderful restaurant other than WOW. It's rare for us to eat here, probably only once a year, but we have never been disappointed and last night was the best ever. Based on last nights delights, this has knocked The Cranleigh (which I love) into second place ! Well done Umbertos
This place never fails to amaze me. We don't eat here regularly probably one or twice a year but when we do they greet us like old friends. The food is outstanding and the service fantastic.
Good food and staff are as good as anywhere in London. Specials on starters and mains are not what they are trying to get rid of, but what is truly seasonal from the meat and fish markets. I've had some amazing steak,
Lobster, seabass, and grouper. Just ask Enzo what's good and what's not; even ask him to cook it another way. I have never had a bad meal here. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

What can I say this was our 1st experince for us even thou we have lived in Horncurch for over 23 years, i can honestly say this will not be our last visit. Friendly staff lovely living room feel about this resturant and the food was beautful , beautifully prsented and so full of flavour and no rushing to get another setting in. just excellent and will be there again very soon.
Excellent authentic Sicilian food and service! The scallops, lobster and tiramisu dishes were fresh, delicious and well presented.

I thought that the food was really good, well cooked and with great portion sizes. There was a good selection of specials as well as the normal menu and the pricing was also decent.
The staff were very attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere was great- clearly lots of regulars and the staff chatting to several of them. We will definitely return and hopefully be regulars here too!

Absolutely faultless!!! Managed to grab a last minute booking earlier today (Mother's Day) and what a result. From the moment we entered the place it was obvious that this was not your run-of-the-mill restaurant. The owner recognised my mum right away for a start, remembered her name and her order - considering she had only ever been there once before and that was a good month ago, this is nothing short of remarkable! The menu was good at first glance but lacked pizzazz...Well that was soon remedied by the specials board. The owner went through each item with us explaining the different flavours and techniques being used for each dish. I heard him repeat this process for every set of guests that arrived and each time he read it with the passion and patience as it was the first! Again, remarkable.
Now, on to the food...OK so I don't say this lightly, I believe this is the best food I've ever eaten. The quality of the ingredients is obvious and the skill and love that the chef puts in is highly evident in every meal. There is no kids menu per se so this was a potential problem for me with a 4 year old. However, I was assured that whatever he wanted, they could do for him. They were happy to make any variation on any of the meals on the menu, or one of his choice. He ended up choosing macaroni cheese (which is not on the menu!) and it was lovely. They supplied him with a kids portion of garlic bread and cheese too.
I could not decide between the garlic mushrooms or the sticky ribs for starters so I requested half-half which the restaurant were more than happy to accommodate. The mushrooms!!! Oh the mushrooms. Sooooooo good. I want more. And more! The ribs were divine too. I followed this with a parmigiana which was so tasty too. Finished it off with panettone (bread and butter pudding style) and that was me done. I left there absolutely stuffed but so so SO happy.
The staff make it a pleasure to be in the restaurant. The place is clean and quaint. Service awesome and the food is absolutely impeccable. Outstanding. I will DEFINITELY be back!

Astounding! I have not been to a restaurant like this in years. We felt the love and warmth from all the staff the minute we walked through the door. They knew the menu inside out, full description of how they cooked it, and very obliging.
The food was spectacular, and what was a casual lunch turned into a feast. We didn't want to leave! Highly recommend this beautiful family restaurant in Hornchurch where they don't hassle you out the door.

Not just the best Italian restaurant i’ve ever been to, but the best restaurant for any food! Absolutely divine food as usual, highly recommend the breaded mozzarella for starters and the chicken with wild mushrooms for mains. amazing service from all members of staff and a wonderful atmosphere to match. Had a fabulous birthday dinner at Umbertos yesterday. The food was exceptional and plenty of it. My only regret was that I was too full to have a dessert. The smoked salmon and prawn starter could have been a main course meal by itself. The Staff were very helpful and attentive. My 8 month old granddaughter had a great time too. We arrived early because of the baby and had the restaurant to ourselves but by the time we left the place was full. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Umbertos.
One of the best meals I have had,
We went there today Sunday 25th June for mums birthday and were immediately made to feel so welcome. We were taken through the specials board one by one and nothing was too much trouble in terms of questions about the menu. The food arrived and both the starters and main courses were absolutely delicious. Two of us had desserts and they were equally as good.
The restaurant itself is charming, authentic and hosted by the most friendly and attentive staff.
We will definitely be going back and would recommend Umbertos 100%!

Dined here Saturday evening for a lovely 3 course meal with my husband. I had Prawns for starter, cod provincial main and flambé oranges for desert. Husband had salmon starter, skate main and orange chocolate cake for desert. All dishes were superb! We shared a bottle of chianti classico. Highly recommend this wonderful, authentic Italian restaurant.

We haven't been there for a while because of travelling, but the food was excellent as usual. The choices on the menu were awesome, with so much to choose from. The service was also of a very high standard as always. We highly recommend Umbertos for quality food and top service.
This place is very cosy. The owners are very polite and they describe anything they have in menu. Food is fantastic. I’ve tried linguine marina. Fantastic option!!! Yamy 👏👍🏻.
