My hubby and I religiously travel miles to Sullivan's to eat their beautifully fried fish and chips, in their newly refurbished restaurant. I also relax with a glass of wine. We have tried fish and chips at many other places, but nothing compares to theirs. The haddock is absolutely, amazingly delicious, crispy batter and fish that's so tasty and it melts in your mouth. We moved to Barton from Hull and still wouldn't dream of trying anywhere else but Sullivan's in Hornsea. The staff are so obliging and polite, their new manageress Jane is absolutely spot on, she's the business, one night we arrived after their closing time and knowing we'd travelled a long way, she opened up again. Jane is lovely and bends over backwards to please, she's so organized and has everything in hand. What more can you ask for, lovely polite pleasant staff giving first class service and delicious fish and chip dinner. Thanks Jane (hope that is your name), we'd travel the globe for your fish and chips and delightful service. First Class - Great Stuff x
I recently was introduced to Yorkshire Fishcakes, as named and made by Sullivan’s chippy in Hornsea. I have had them previously under another name.
I must admit, these were the best ever!
Very well cooked, a huge amount of fish inside two slices of potato. Just perfect. Ring up your order, then hey presto.....best fishcake in Hornsea! ����
The young waiter and waitress that served us yesterday afternoon around 4 had excellent customer service skills. The food was lovely and yes the chips were a little dry as mentioned in another comment but most chip shops are same. Lovely fish though.
We had a lovely birthday celebration here. The ladies who set up the table and sorted the cake for us were just fantastic, they could not have been more helpful patient and kind. We were a very mixed group and nothing was too much trouble. The fish was perfect, fluffy flakes of haddock that melted in your mouth with a crispy batter, and I am a trawler skipper's daughter so I know good fish when I taste it and this was superb. Thank you lovely ladies and all the staff at Sullivans.

Friendly service and perfectly cooked fish and chips. I have very high standards and rarely give recommendations but Sullivans definitely deserve my 5*. My four friends who hadn't been before were delighted and we will all come again.

First time been to Sullivan's, and will definitely be going back ,fish was beautiful, Restaurant was spotless and staff were most charming
First-class fish and chips. But, apart from that, the staff were so welcoming. I turned up in muddy clothes with muddy bike and they couldn’t have been nicer. This place was recommended to me and I am pleased to pass on that recommendation.
Arrived and was shown to a table straight away. Really friendly staff who interacted with our young children. We all ordered fish n chips which were beautifully cooked in a really nice light batter. The chips were also really nice.
The toilets were clean and really fresh smelling. The cleaning was done to a really high standard. On visiting the disabled toilet to change one of the children's nappies, I found the changing area to be clean and hygienic, with the toilet area cleaned to a high standard, and smelling fresh.
An excellent fish supper, and would highly recommend this fabulous eatery.
The regular fish and chips were huge and very tasty. We only had takeaway and ate them at the car so didn't use the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices were very reasonable as well. We will definitely be using Sullivans again when in Hornsea. Thanks to all at Sullivans.
A gem of a chippy, very close to the main Hornsea beach. Food was piping hot and tasty, the inside area is nicely decorated, and it felt very clean (unlike most chippies). Plenty on the menu, including a range of drinks and desserts. Only suggestion would be to cater to people's appetites - the portions were slightly smaller than we'd have liked, especially the kids menu (just 3 chicken nuggets). The staff were all amazing - smiling, friendly, and attentive. Fantastic!
Really friendly staff. Although they weren't able to accommodate a milk allergy, they were really helpful and apologetic.
Nice and clean restaurant. Food served quickly and was nice and hot, and tasty. One of our friends ordered sausage and chips, but it was not battered as we'd normally expect at a Fish and Chips restaurant (but we had forgot to specify either way).
Got to be one of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Food sublime. Had regular fish and chips today with mushy peas and tea. Food arrived within minutes of placing order. Hot. Not greasey at all. Thickest fillet of fish, lovely crisp batter. Chunky chips and home made? mushy peas. Waiter very attentive and polite. Restaurant and toilets immaculate. Can't recommend enough!
Our go-to chippie when we're in Hornsea for a walk and a stop at the penny arcades. Fish is really well cooked with light and crispy batter and they do amazing chips to boot.
Kids portions are a good size (and pretty decent if you ever fancy fish and chips but know you're also planning to eat a proper meal later on!).

We went on a very busy Easter Sunday. Got a table within 5 mins. Really friendly waitress and some of the best Fish and Chips we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended if in Hornsea
The best! we've ever had. Thick fresh fish with chips, thick gravy and mushy peas. Latte also the best taste. Very helpful friendly staff. A clean, friendly family run business. Nothing was any trouble for them. Went twice on holiday. Will definitely be going again next year. Keep up the great work. Amazing!! 10 out of 10 Thank you!!

Great no nonsense fish and chip cafe, dramatically updated internally since the closure and damage due to sea flooding. The interior is clean, fresh and modern. The chintzy charm is a distant memory. The fish and chips are still very good. The Jumbo fish is not for the faint hearted! Reasonable price and good quality. Disabled access, seating and toilet. Baby changing facilities. Licensed bar and good desserts. Great for groups.
I used to visit here many many years ago with my parents, it was to go back with my family. The food and service were just as I remembered it. The fish just melts in the mouth and the batter is not thick. Brought back some wonderful childhood memories
I've been here plenty of times before but not since it was was refurbished. The fish and chips are simply epic and the usual ancillaries are available on the menu. There's plenty of space, service is effective and it's good value. Will be back.
Having not been to Sullivans for over 10 years I had not expected the charm and distinct flavour to remain, yet it does. There's no other option for unique, delicious fish and chips on the East Coast.
The food was super good! Milkshakes were cute and all the food was really good prices! Lady with the short blonde hair was so sweet and funny! recommend!!! <3
Fantastic fish and chips - it's a shame a side wasn't included in the price, beautiful food all the same. Service was good.
I've had to come back and amend my review as we had a second visit and the food was superb. Probably the best fish and chips we've had in a long time.
The regular is a generous portion and the kids nuggets are really tasty.
Sullivans needs to expand nationwide so we can enjoy this back home 😄
