La Fonda Tapas Restaurant & Bar

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's British tapas. Tapas turned fine dining in the UK is something I simply refuse to review. Over priced dishes served around dimly lit tables by students who spent a "gap yaar" in Madrid. Often employing cuts like flat iron steak or New York strip for that "authentica taste". HOWEVER, this is not what you'll find at La Fonda. This, is Tapas. It's rustic, home cooking where dishes are prepared by experienced hands, with the kind of care that's passed down through generations. You open the door on a busy Horseforth high street and walk into a chiringuito in Jimena. The croquetas and the calamari are the best I've had in the U.K. Do yourself a favour and make sure to order those. Honestly everything I had was fantastic bar the boquerones that were a little over fried. But hey, it might feel like a beach bar in Al Maria, but we're still in Leeds. The value for money is absolute. With an extensive and very tempting drinks menu. Ordering as many snacks as you like for £20 can't be beaten. The owner and the hostesses are all super friendly and read a table extremely well. They can tell who wants to chat and who doesn't. Try this place. Go for lunch, go for dinner, but support it. Thank you for a wonderful meal and a taste of home. I will certainly be back soon.

Really nice restaurant. Nice friendly staff and a nice way of ordering. Some of the dishes were excellent a couple were ok but ones I wouldn’t order again. The patatas bravas were good, as were the ribs and the chorizo. The fried anchovies and spicy chicken in a creamy sauce were my least favourite dishes. Will come back again.

Visited here for my birthday back in June, brilliant to have a decent tapas place in Horsforth. Really like the idea of the small plates and set-menu type ordering. Perfect for couples, could prove tricky if anyone has specific dietary requirements I'd imagine. Staff were very attentive and quick, food was brilliant. Would definitely recommend for a couple looking to enjoy a chilled out environment with decent food & drink!

Went for a date night. The staff were so friendly and efficient. All you can eat tapas with perfect portion sizes to allow you to try many different dishes without wasting food. The food was incredible, best tapas I’ve had in leeds. Cocktails were incredible and again the drinks are extremely reasonably priced. Outside area looked beautiful. I cannot sing this places praises enough. 100% recommend and will be returning.

An absolutely incredible restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are lovely and the food is perfect. The portions are on the smaller side which is great as you definitely feel like you get your money's worth and you get the chance to try things you probably wouldn't anywhere else. Also, heavily suggest the red wine sangria - it's heavenly!❤️

Just got in from a wonderful experience at la fonda, the food was absolutely delicious, with so many beautiful tapas to choose from, & eat as much as you want,choice of fab cocktails - wines & beers. The staff were brilliant & attentive & the ambience of the place, with the spanish backing music were great, will definitely be booking in again, very soon.
