It was our first time going to bistro le cep, I have passed by it many times as well as gone to the daido Japanese market and genji next door. Finally decided to give a try, it was totally worth it. The complementary patê they had provided before our meal opened our palette. We had ordered that day's special, which was either red snapper or veal dinner. As we were not too hungry we decided to only order one portion of the veal meal and clam chowder as a small appetizer. The clam chowder was delicious. For our meal they had taken the courtesy to actually separate the portion onto two plates for us. The flavor was great, especially the green pepper demi glaze like sauce.

Fabulous food, nice, quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Had the evening special which consisted of a lamb chop, pork medallions, and bacon-wrapped quail. All were delicious, the pig especially. Wife and I split the smoked salmon salad - amazing. No room for the key lime pie, will have to go back.

Went here for my birthday dinner. I had a small group or 6 and we reserved ahead of time. The staff was very accommodating for one of the guests visiting who brought a baby. They sat us at a square table which allowed for intimate conversations and fellowship without feeling overcrowded. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and friendly about the dishes offered and I chose to get the special of the day. I got an appetizer of escargots to start and we all dined on the bread and paté offered. Then came the main course and everyone enjoyed what they had, my mother even left saying the portions left her full but not too full and we talked about the wonderful culinary experience for hours after. Highly recommend. It is a must visit for Houstonians.

Bistro Le Cep is a culinary gem that captures the essence of French cuisine. It's the ideal destination for a romantic dinner or any special occasion. The restaurant's commitment to delivering an authentic French dining experience is evident in every aspect of the meal. Dining here is not just a meal; it's a journey through the flavors and traditions of France." I can't wait for them to reopen so I can go again.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. To top it all of they have an amazing selection for dessert. I highly recommend and will be coming back to Bistro Le Cep.

A Houston institution I had been meaning to get to for years, I finally made the trip over for Houston Restaurant Weeks. The wild boar was the appetizer, which was surprisingly delicious and tender, my first time having it. My chicken and pasta was bland, but all of the desserts the table ordered were amazing. My friend's commented on how good the escargot was. The decor is outdated and a bit stuffy. Not sure I would go back without some updates to the decor and menu, but glad I tried it. The key lime pie was delicious!

My folks picked this restaurant to take me to on my birthday. Great pick. This is now my favorite restaurant for French cuisine. Everything tasted great; and the servers were quick and attentive. Start with the snails!

Very traditional and cozy set up. Atmosphere was very quiet with patrons able to enjoy soft conversations. Limited menu options and priced a little more than what i expected. Professional and experienced servers with good service.

The restaurant seems like it was a really nice french country place 20 years ago.... now, it definitely needs renovations, painting, cleaning, etc!!! The food is really good, but you can see that the presentation and quality it's missing that extra enough for me to give them 5 stars. The place smells funny, the ceiling fans are dirty, the wines have lots of dust, the curtains smell old. You have a great chef and location, you need to invest some in bringing the nice touch!
