Kona Grill

Kona grill have a great sushi happy hour menu - matter a fact the best in Houston. They do have problems keeping up with service, making sure you get what you do want and if they do mistakes - as they often do - do not be surprised if they make a couple more mistakes - even though, the food is brilliant and I do love the people - even if they forget me now and then

My first time there and I really dont like sushi etc so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised though. I sat at the bar on a Friday night, there was a healthy crowd. The service was still pretty quick. The drinks weren't too bad and who doesnt love Sake!. I had the macadamia nut snapper (Hawaiian fish) it was pretty delicious and I'm a pretty picky eater. I felt like it was a cozy place with a good view of the street etc and you can get lost in all of the good vibes they have there.

I go to Kona Grill often. This last visit I went during the all day happy hour on Sunday. I ordered the cheeseburger sliders thinking I'd get a couple of dainty sized cute burgers. Well, the waiter brought me out two HUGE Texas sized burgers. They were delicious just a lot larger than I expected. One of my favorite things at Kona is the spicy aioli sauce they serve with the sweet potato fries. I really wish they'd bottle it and sell it or at least tell us the recipe. I've never had a bad meal here, and the service is always great!

Stopped by during happy hour on Saturday to chill after a couple of hours walking and shopping at the Galleria. Our server was attentive, and we received our drinks and meal in good time. For drinks, we ordered two house margaritas with Patron tequila. We got one of the margaritas with mango flavor. Both were on the rocks, and refreshing. We enjoyed the delicious bbq chicken flatbread with frozen Kona mai tai with dark rum float. I would describe the Kona mai tai as a tropical fruity twist to pina colada. My time here was relaxing. And that's exactly what I needed.

This was my first time at the KG happy hour. Great patio seating until someone came out smoking cigarettes. The specials are okay, the pricing is still Galleria. The sushi was not as good as other places or grocery store sushi which I get fresh. The Caribbean queso was delicious. It is served with circle cornbread chips. The service was slow for a Tuesday considering they were not packed but the servers were very courteous and knowledgeable.
