I had an unpleasant incident purchasing a bad chicken salad sandwich. After several failed attempts I was able to get in touch with a nice lady who offered to give me a refund. The food is usually not bad so I may go again in the future but I did get an upset stomach.

High quality, low price, historic sandwich shop. And they listen to customers! They just add a ketchup and salt/vinegar potato chips. Also recently changed the complete layout of the store to better accommodate the customers. Same husband and wife managers for 30 plus years.

The pimento cheese sandwich is indeed Supreme: heaven-sent for under a fiver for the combo. One of the Top 10 deals in Houston: I could eat it daily. The shop also has a great nostalgic vibe with classic oldies playing.

Very good sandwiches, at very affordable prices. Had an egg sandwich (very good), chips and drink for $4.61. Sandwiches are made fresh every day. Very simple, on regular bread. They also sell subs which are good as well. Only negative is drink refills are not free. But I guess that is how they keep most every sandwich combo under $5.
