I ordered the catfish and shrimp. It took the average cook time. It was A MAZ ING. Good food great atmosphere.

This was my first time going to pick up a lunch plate this afternoon. When I tell you delicious. The greens were seasoned and the candied yams had the right amount of seasoning and the smothered pork chops and rice with gravy was on point.

Will be coming back, everything was awesome, service, the atmosphere, the people, the food was good but high for the price, in general it was cool, thanks 😁

Hey all in all the food was great!
They could add some more seasoning/spice, but the overall taste of the 'actual' food was great and I will be returning.
The price point was fair at about $15 after tax for the Turkey Wing meal pictured.

Great food and awesome service. The owners make you feel right at home. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic, down home cooking.

It made me feel like I was in my Aunts house. Mouth watering food and the Kool-aid was spot on.

The food was good. I would say a 4/5 you just have to season whatever you get since a lot of people have different health restrictions. The atmosphere was great 5/5, and I really appreciated the service I got since they were both older people taking care of my order. Being in business for 27 yrs is amazing, and I'm glad I had a chance to be a part of it.

Our first time at Yo Mama’s Soul Food. Walked in and immediately noticed the restaurant was clean and tidy. The food was served cafeteria style. The entrees for the day were: (smothered?) steak in a gravy, ox tails, meatloaf, pork chops in gravy, baked 1/2 chicken, and gumbo (sausage & seafood it appeared to be). We ordered the Mama’s plate x2 with 1 slice meatloaf, and 1 pork chop, sides: macaroni, cabbage, black eyed peas, and collard greens. The meals came with 3 sides and corn bread muffins. Food was hot and fresh! Meatloaf: 5/5, Pork chop: 3/5, mac & cheese: 5/5, peas: 5/5, cabbage: 4/5, greens: 5/5, cornbread muffins: 4/5. Pork chops had good flavor but were a bit dry, meatloaf was outstanding! We will return very soon to try the ox tails and sample some of the beautiful cakes in the display. Proprietor was very friendly and helpful - we inquired if they are open on Sundays - had read somewhere that they were only open one Sunday a month. She confirmed they are open every Sunday (and Saturday). You must try Mama’s if you like delicious soul food/home cooking!
