One of my preferred places for Malaysian food. I look forward to going back again. Prices that are reasonable. They have so many great reviews for a reason.

Highly recommend Satay. Hands down the best Malaysian food in Houston right now. Agree with the other reviews that it's what you would get in KL or Singapore. Very authentic, high quality ingredients and excellent preparation. Service was also great. We have good Malaysian food in Houston but it hasn't been this good since Mata Hari was in the original location on Westheimer many years ago. And Satay is likely better than Mata Hari's was given how the whole restaurant scene has been elevated (along with expectations).

For a good Malaysian experience this is a great place. The food is on the pricier side but it is delicious. I feel the menu needs more options.

Having lived and worked in Malaysia I am always thrilled to find cuisine here that tastes like the food I grew fond of there. Satay Malaysian Restaurant delivers an exquisite taste of my second home. Try the roti canai and the tom yam. All are wonderful.

A few friends came into town and we were looking for an Asian restaurant for 7 people (which on a Saturday evening, you can imagine how hard they is!). We found Satay Malaysian restaurant on Yelp and decided to check it out. Walking it, there were 2 if the 10 tables were filled. Jackpot! We were immediately seated. Throughout our meal, the restaurant became half filled up. For our appetizer, we have roti with chicken curry, beef satay and calamari. You can never go wrong with roti with chicken curry (and they definitely didn’t disappoint!). The calamari was perfectly fried and juicy. They didn’t skip out the meat! The beef satay was tender and smoky, perfect for a start. For our dinner, we had the combination fried rice, Maggie Mee Goreong and Sizzling Pepper Chicken. Amazing! The Maggie Mee Goreong was very unique - it was not fully dry but not gravy either. It had the beautiful Malaysian taste. For dessert (yes we managed to squeeze that in!), we had the fried ice cream and the fried banana. The fried ice cream was good but I actually liked the fried banana even better. Overall, amazing food, amazing service. I didn’t want to write about this hidden gem (at least hidden for me) but it was too good to not share!

The dipping bread was amazing. Make sure you finish meal at table. Take home food smells like actual feces later on but still tastes good.

Was brought here by a close friend who is a former resident of Singapore and said this is the best representation of the fare you would find in country. The food was above par and the service was superb, highly recommended.

Satay Malaysian has become our favorite Asian restaurant in Houston. They never disappoint. We always get the sizzling tofu. My husband craves the prawn soup on a weekly basis.
