Absolutely fantastic! The Cricketer is a great pub since the refurb, nice interior and balcony, good drinks but since the change in kitchen and menu this is the place to visit!! The food is sensational, if you’re a foodie you have to try it. Great selection, top quality cooking at its finest. You cannot go wrong. Seriously impressive.

Beautifully tasty food. Big portions. Highly recommend for a roast. Will definitely be visiting again - loved it

The all new Sussex Cricketer is totally different to it's previous incarnation. More trendy bar grill feel about it than local pub. Not that that is all good. No rear garden any more but the front terrace works well and is comfortable and being raised didn't have a side-of-the-road feel about it. Decent food. Good range of beer. Nice decor.

Update: couldn't resist had a portion of chicken wings and chips, really nice. Great flavors and fresh. Most definitely be back

So much better than before. Although I didn't eat here, my friends did. Looked good
Watched the rugby on the drop-down screens.
Staff were great. A great addition to Hove's pubs/bars.

Visited a couple of days ago for lunch, staff were very friendly and welcoming, service was quick and efficient. The food was up there for the best I’ve ever eaten and it came out quickly. I’d definitely recommend and I’ll definitely be back.

The newly built Sussex Cricketers in Eaton Road Hove next to Sussex County Cricket Ground.
Very different from the previous pub which was demolished. New flats are above and this pub is now fully open plan with a south facing sun terrace at the front of the building. It gets the sun most of the day and is great to sit out as the road is pretty quiet.
Good choice of draught beers but not so many real ales on tap. This pub is now run by Indigo Inns.
They do food but more attention to detail and presentation is needed as the pork belly was not very well presented.
In all, an impressive modern venue and perfect for sitting out in the sun.

Visited here for my birthday on 5th October 2023. Service was very good, food came out quickly, presentation, temperature and taste of the food was divine. Varied menu with lots to choose from. Would definitely recommend and will be back asap

Normally quite good, we fancied a Sunday roast and thought this was a safe bet, however it wasn't busy, that was good but the service and food wasn't up to scratch. We had ordered sides with the roast and had to ask for them twice, they arrived very late and the sausages were burnt! As we're my roast potatoes, I couldn't cut them so left the small black suds on the side. It took forever to be served at the bar, we had to ask for cutlery and that took ages!!! Sorry but I would think twice about going back.
Also on the other table when asked what was in the soup he said I don't know and I don't know what a butternut squash is 🙈🙈 blimy !!!
