Visited this pub as it was on the way back to our nearby hotel in Hove. It was a busy Sunday evening with plenty of tables reserved but we managed to find a table. The staff were very welcoming and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.
We live very local to this pub so we thought we’d try it out.
The Sunday roast was incredible!!!…and fabulous service.
The people in the pub are very friendly. We came again for some pints, wings and chips- yet again the food was delicious!

The Sunday roast here is ah-may-zing to say the least 👌🏻 portion is perfect and the ambience is super relaxing on a Sunday brunch time. Staff are the loveliest and friendliest. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for a good time!!

This is a pub I've been going to with my family for many years. The menu has a lot to offer, the seating is comfortable and the staff are fantastic.
Location is also great, just up the road from hove lawns.
Came in around 7, quite busy, which is understandable considering it was the Saturday of Easter weekend, ordered food, took a little while as it was busy. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, food was warm and satisfying. last time I was in the menu was a touch limited, but now, aside from pizzas, there
Great atmosphere, delicious food (very fond of the onion rings) and decently priced drinks. Christine was great, informed us of the menu change and recommended me a great drink choice. Will definitely be coming back!
A gem of a pub with excellent staff and great food. Very welcoming atmosphere unlike some of the more pretentious pubs in the area. The pork burger was lovely.
Lovely, friendly place to relax and enjoy the social interaction with other happy customers. Free Bingo on Sunday evenings is fun and is a regular event that a lot of people enjoy. The food was very good and the menu was varied and comprehensive.
Will definitely patronise the Sussex again!

Nov. 2021. Recent new management has made this pub a much nicer place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My wife had the ribeye steak and it was very good. This will be a regular haunt for us. Recommended.
We were a large group of 20 + having a festive meal together. We were very impressed with the food and service and would highly recommend this venue.
Reasonably priced large pub hosting many sociable events, sports on TV and a food menu. The mediterranean style outside area is a bonus.
Was served by Jordan, he was very friendly, helpful, and well dressed. Had the cow and chic burger, it was so good! Highly recommended if you’re look for food. Atmosphere was great too.
