Really great friendly old fashioned pub. Didnt have food this time but have before & it's always been yummy. Love this place and there are always things going on, quizzes etc. Will be back soon x
Such a lovely pub. Warm and friendly service. Great pub food, ordered the mixed grill which did not disappoint. Great for families too. Wheelchair accessible too.
Nice spacious pub where you could easily loose a few hours of your life chilling on your own with a fee drinks watching sport on the tv or with your partner or friends. Loads of areas to choose from to make yourself comfortable and a pool table which never disappoints. Will be back again.

The people in the pub are very friendly. We came again for some pints, wings and chips- yet again the food was delicious!

We've never tried the food so that's why I didn't give it 5 stars. Still it's a proper pub as I remember them. No glitz and pretensions but good honest fun. Full of characters, live music often. A great selection of beers and spirits.

The Sunday roast here is ah-may-zing to say the least 👌🏻 portion is perfect and the ambience is super relaxing on a Sunday brunch time. Staff are the loveliest and friendliest. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for a good time!!
I’ve just returned from a meeting of some 20 people, held at the Sussex. It was an excellent experience, the accommodation was well organised, the food was good and served promptly and efficiently by the staff. Lee and his team were great and we all had a fun time!
Just been to the pub and met the most amazing and friendly waitress her name is Lola . She made us feel very comfortable,also She made us laugh .
This is a pub I've been going to with my family for many years. The menu has a lot to offer, the seating is comfortable and the staff are fantastic.
Location is also great, just up the road from hove lawns.

Nov. 2021. Recent new management has made this pub a much nicer place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My wife had the ribeye steak and it was very good. This will be a regular haunt for us. Recommended.
Great meal topped off by even better service. George was a delight. Friendly, welcoming and full of chat and charm. We'll be back!
