Great prices, great portions. All the classic curry dishes cooked in the curry house style.
It was the first time I went there. I was returning home and fancied a curry. I was impressed with the food, that was well prepared and interesting. I didn't feel it was your normal take away offering. The Nan was obviously freshly made, my chicken was moist and obviously cooked to order. The staff were great, my first visit but not my last.
We have ordered takeaway from here multiple times and it has always been delicious - the prices are great, the staff are always friendly and we havent had a bad meal. Would highly recommend for a curry in brighton/hove.
I'm a regular here as it's very local to where I live. Put simply their food is amazing, the staff are friendly and the (albeit small, as it's more of a takeout/delivery place) restaurant seating area is a nice place to sit.
This place can be a bit hit and miss. Some dishes are good others are not. I like the paneer tikka masala but their onions bhaji are pretty grim. One thing you can't beat this place on is price. If you are after a cheap curry and willing to hit or miss this place is a good choice.
I didn’t read the reviews until after I’d ordered. I’m glad about that, because the service was superb, the food even better. Delicious hot food, full of flavour and beautifully cooked.
The negative reviews must be an act of sabotage, they certainly don’t reflect the wonderful experience we had. I 100% recommend this place, and will definitely return.
31st December 2020, we ordered our NYE takeaway, something was missing from the delivery, we rang, it was at our door under 20 minutes later. Everything was delicious again, still 5***** review from us. We will continue to order our takeaway curries from here.
10th Feb 2021, just ordered again, we eat from this place about once a fortnight, always delicious and prompt delivery of hot food.
Absolutely love this takeaway! The curry always tastes amazing, it’s always delivered on time and there is always loads of it! We have been ordering from this takeaway for the last few months and never go anywhere else. The Malayan curry is a new one to us and is a great alternative to a korma! X
Been reading recent reviews of this place and i'm surprised to see so many are very negative. I ordered tonight because I want to check out all the Indian takeaways in my area. I was not disappointed. Food was hot, service great and delivered in good time. Flavour wise I really enjoyed it. Had Lamb Ceylon, Mushroom Rice, Onion Bhajis, Poppadoms and Naan and scoffed the lot. Withholding 1 star as I can't say if they're consistent but I will definitely order again based on tonight's meal.
Very nice food, good service and fair prices. Ordered twice from Spice Merchant and they've never forgotten anything or given us the wrong food (which seems to happen way to often with curry takeaway places). Would recommend them to anyone!
Food was nice but delivery through UberEats was almost 30 mins late, even though we scheduled the order almost 2hrs before we wanted it. Seems like they use their own delivery drivers. Would probably advise picking up yourself, if you need it to be on-time.
I have been ordering from Spice Merchant a lot lately.
After trying several Indian/Desi restaurants, I’ve concluded that Spice Merchant is worth of every pound.
Quality of their food is A1. Quantity, even better.
Garlic Ginger Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi is my favorite.
Highly recommend this place.
