Really cosy, relaxing atmosphere. Friendly service and home-made everything makes Poppy's well-worth visiting. We went for a birthday cream tea. We'll be back!
Six of us came to Popsys for tea & cake to commemorate a loved one who passed away 7 years ago. The atmosphere is divine, the decoration are so sweet and cheerful. The staff are incredible, they couldn't do enough for us, our youngest was particularly enamoured with the staff member who popped out the get the French bread. The food was gorgeous, between the six of us we had bacon sarnies, ploughman's, vegan loaf cake, rocky roads, kinder bueno hot chocolates, a huuuge pot of tea, a pulled pork toastie and a biscoff bake. Everything was good, well made, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. It was a fabulous morning and we will be back.
A lovely wee place for coffee cake lunch or afternoon tea, great decor, very friendly and attentive staff, nice ambience and good value for money. Big choice of sandwiches toasties soup cakes etc. they only accept cash or bank transfer so be prepared. Well behaved dogs were welcomed. Looks like you can hire it out for private functions and it’s licensed!
A great place to go for excellent homemade cake and coffee or tea. Fab sandwiches and hot food. You can take well behaved dogs too. Wonderful decor.

A hidden little gem, tucked away inside the community centre. I visit at least once per week, and sometimes much more often when catching up with friends.
A good variety of dishes available whether you are just after a hot drink and maybe some cake, right up to something more substantial.
Staff are always friendly and very accomodating, the coffee (including decaf) is excellent and their cakes are amazing. A very good base menu is supplemented by a regularly changing specials board so there is always something you like, or something new and adventurous to try.
As a testament to their popularity it can get busy at times, so it is best to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment - if not then you might end up having to wait a little while or grab a takeaway instead.
Accessibility at the centre and cafe is very good, and staff are very adept at assisting those with wheelchairs or prams to navigate their way to a table when busy.
Be advised that they do not have a card machine but are more than happy to accept payment via mobile banking if you haven't got cash with you. This took me by suprise the first time, but wasn't a problem as they let you know on arrival and there is even WiFi available if you can't get phone signal.
It was a busy sunny Saturday in April. Lots of people had come out to enjoy the sunshine. If I were to say Popsy's were incredibly busy, that would be a huge understatement. However, I can only but compliment the leading lady who was in charge (15/4/23) She never lost her cool, professional to a fault, and all, with a wonderful sense of humour.
Would I come back to Popsy's, absolutely! It's a wonderful little place, with lovely food and wonderful staff... Just be patient if they are busy; they are really working hard to be the best!!!
Have visited a few times now and every time has been excellent. The staff are just incredible and couldn't give you a better welcome or be more friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere, decor and food. Their amazing GF selection is the icing on the cake! 🙂

We hired Popsys for a surprise 60th birthday party and it was so good!! Terri and the team were amazing and so helpful from the initial contact, meeting right up to the end of the party and tidying up.I would recommend Popsys to everyone looking for a beautiful, friendly, relaxing venue and people.
