Absolutely amazing food. We booked for 5.30pm Saturday. I started with the spring roll which was the most tastiest dish I had, choose this if you visit you will be impressed!! My partner had the kofta and then we had chicken and pork. The service was outstanding from our waiter. And all the staff was informed and polite. This was recommended from a friend and we was highly impressed. Thank you. This was our first date we have had after having our 3rd child.

As Mrs C had been a few times and raved about how good it was, I thought it was time to finally try Eric's. And she was right. Very right. Everything was delicious. We came as a family to say farewell after travelling the UK for 5 weeks. And it was a fitting farewell. The two course for £25, before 6.30pm, was excellent value. Steak. Fish. Each dish was delightful. I'm only sorry that we don't live closer as I'd definitely be back. Highly recommended.

So many wonderful dining experiences at Eric’s. Staff are always really attentive and polite, all the way from a warm welcome upon arrival to the end of dining, the wait time between meals / drinks is never too long or too little, they’ve got that just right. The food is delicious and of highest standard with quality in mind. We especially enjoy the Eric’s themed nights! Ie: A Night in New York etc. The ambience and atmosphere is warm and inviting, whether you want to go for an evening or daytime occasion, the mood is always right. Up there with the best fine dining in the north, thank you many great nights and more to come!

Great food and an amazing, cosy atmosphere. The menu is quite limited but this is likely the key to great flavour and therefore a great experience! Id rather have less choice but perfection in taste and flavour. We had a prior booking and were seated immediately. The food came out hot and within a few minutes of ordering. There was nothing that I wouldn't order again which is probably the highest praise I could give a restaurant.

Absolutely wonderful food and service. We visited 03.12.23 for an early family Christmas dinner with my parents. Eric's, as usual was fabulous. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where the chef understands food as much as Eric Paxman does, everything goes together perfectly and is seasoned beautifully. Paired with excellent service Eric's really is worth a try if you haven't been.

Worlds apart from our August visit.. On the 14th August 2014 my husband brought me to the Eric's, for my birthday lunch. It was absolutely fantastic, the service, the staff, the food everything was lovely. I was so pleased that i wanted to take our daughter on her weeks holiday to Eric's for Lunch. Table booked for 1.00 p.m, young man crossed my name off the booking sheet and walked away. He then continued to take other people in the bar area to tables. This continued for about 10 mins so i caught his eye and said i would like to order drinks please, we ordered but then 10 minutes later he picked up menus and asked us to go to our table. I asked for our drinks, his reply I will being them to the table.<br/>Another 10 minutes passed and they came no ice or lemon just mineral water. Very disappointed. Time passed and it got to 2.10 p.m. and we hadn't seen a waitress, who then came up the stairs to take our order. I told her I had spoken on the phone when booking that my daughter was a Coeliac and had n intolerance to wheat and gluten and was told no problem on the phone. We ordered after back and forward to the kitchen. Gnocchi was off as it had flour in it, we were offered sauteed potatoes, my daughter said she didn't like sauteed potatoes so chose the tagliatelle pasta dish and the waitress said she would check to see if it was gluten free pasta. SHE NEVER RETURNED so we assumed the pasta was on. The main course arrived after we had finished our starters, no gluten free pasta, just a pile of sauteed potatoes, goats cheese, pine nuts and spinach?? What happened to the pasta we asked. The waitress informed us there was no gluten free pasta but why didn't she tell us. At the point when my daughter refused her potato lunch Eric came to the table, who was seemed to be put out somewhat asked what she wanted. She decided on Steak and Chips because she was mortifed and upset because she felt all the people in the restaurant were looking at her and was embarrassed. The steak was full of fat and grizzle and most of it went back half chewed on the plate, and we were both left feeling pretty fed up with our so called special lunch. Oh, just to go back a bit, the waitress at the beginning of the meal brought some bread and dipping oil and told my daughter that there was no gluten free bread, but later returned and said oh we have got some bread now i will go and get you some. She never returned and on enquiring what had happened to the gluten free bread her reply was Sorry I forgot, i have been busy.<br/><br/>To say we were disappointed was an understatement a total contrast to the lovely birthday lunch we had on my birthday on the 14th August. We arrived at 1.05 p.m. and left at 3.40 - what does that tell you, there was another couple on the table next to us that seemed to get the same service, poor.<br/><br/>The way we were treated was not very good.
