I've not tasted a roast dinner this delicious in a long time. We had the pork which was cooked to perfection. Every bit of the meal was a delight to the taste buds 😋 we had lemon and treacle sponge and custard for dessert which was also delicious and a generous serving. The only comment I'd make here is it would have been nice to taste a bit more lemon, but I understand that not everyone likes too much lemon. Staff are very welcoming and polite. Great experience 👍

Generous portions. Modules whilst marginally over cooked were very good and the sauce was delicious, as was the bread to mop it up. Veg might have been a little unadventurous, but the Chicken, Lamb shank and Steak pie were all very good. Too stuffed to have pudding!

Great location for great food. Excellent main courses however me and a friend were both disappointed with the desserts. Nationally available ales on tap, why not try some better small local breweries?
Pleasant friendly service from all the girls. Good parking and lots of outdoor tables.

We went at lunchtime. The lunchtime menu is a very reasonable price. Portion sizes were large both for the mains and the sweets. Although there were many diners, the tables were sufficiently well spaced so no feeling of being uncomfortably close. Altogether a delightful experience.

The food was good and my sized portions. You knew you had had a proper meal at the end of the evening. I had my old stand by, steak and ale pie, followed by apple crumble. The other 4 in my company all enjoyed theirs too. The only fault was the service was a little slow. The Pub was busy for early on a Thursday (7pm) perhaps that might be the reason.

Called in for Sunday tea. Modern and clean, but with a traditional feel, this is a lovely pub. It has a campsite out back with lovely views. The food is home made and delicious. At the time of writing, they had a Sunday menu that is £4.95 per starter or dessert and £10.95 for mains. The service was friendly and fast. Outside there is a nice area to sit under shelter or there is ample seating inside. We'll be back.

On our most recent visit we hadn't booked and were a bit last minute so could only choose from a limited menu as they had stated to close the kitchen down, but that said the chicken and ham, and steak pie that we both had were delicious and very generous portions. It was also very good of them to let us eat having turned up as late as we had.

If you are passing do yourself a favour and stop here . What a fab spot, from the staff with friendly smiles and quick service, to the scrumptious food with a menu that caters for everyone! The decor is amazing homey and classy at the same time. The view !!!!!! You are over looking the valley it's a must even if you stop for a photo and a pint.
It was the best meal we had on our travels to the UK. My partner had the pork belly and I had the burger with brisket. Onion rings were gorgeous, chips to die for and the mash
..... Can't wait to come here again. Xx ❤️

Absolutely stunning views on the campsite, pizza was lovely from the pub.

Stayed in our camper van in the car park grounds. Use of loos when pub open. Plenty of bins and chemical waste disposal too. No obligation to eat at the pub but so glad we did. Lovely home cooked food. Service was great too. It was very busy and the staff never stopped and were so friendly. Lovely outside area with amazing views.

Called on Sunday for a roast dinner and one of the huge Yorkshire puddings that have been mentioned and photographed on here recently.
Disappointingly the only day that they don't serve giant Yorkshire pudding is on Sunday!
Seemed a little disorganised but I think there was a few new members of staff, also they were advertising for staff, so it would not put me off going again.
We had to find ourselves a menu and then you order at the bar.
Roast beef... And the pork were delicious. The veg needed a little butter and seasoning, as did the mash potatoes. The gravy needs more work.
Portion size was good, we didn't leave a scrap. (I would have to disagree with the previous reviewer who said the portions were too big, portions were perfect, for us)
No check back, although the friendly young lady that we paid at the bar upon leaving did ask if all was OK, albeit a bit late at this point.
Very busy place so I would advise booking a table.
Good value for money at £13 for a Sunday roast dinner.

Even though I have only given the food a four star rating, it is generally pretty good. We go about twice a month, and every so often we have a poorly cooked dish where, for example, the veg is undercooked or the pulled beef isn't pulled but chopped into small pieces and tough. Otherwise, it's usually spot on. A quick mention to the staff, and it's sorted out.
The surroundings are quite old-school pleasant and clean.
There is an extensive menu with plenty of options.
A well stocked bar with plenty of choice.
The toilets are clean.
Large carpark with plenty of spaces
Caravans are allowed to stay over. Good for walks in the country.
There's wheelchair access into the pub and restaurant. Children are welcome.
There's a duck pond outside and seating area with tables.
The views are great.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Pass this pub every day & thought it would be a good idea to have a meal & catch up with friends here last night.
It's a good job we booked as the pub was busy but service from staff was still great.
Plenty of choice on the menu and food portions were quite big & tasty. We ordered the pheasant, lamb shank & surf & turf. All were spot on.
Plenty of choice for dessert too.
Will definitely return - thanks 👍

Nice menu and everyone else really enjoyed their food. I had steak and ale pie, the top of the pie was just gross is was sooo thick and chewy no idea what was going on but it was horrid. The meat was gorgeous though, also we all got chocolate gateau for desert- heated, I had ice cream and other 2 had cream (the runny cream) don't know name of it, anyway it was sour, really off it smelled gross.

Very very overpriced, trying to charge restaurant prices ! They want £14 for a piece of chicken and a few noodles, 6 out of 9 of us had a horrible food, cheap meat and I can’t believe the prices, definitely won’t be returning
