Popped in today with my mum. We had drinks/cake and everything was delicious. The staff were very friendly, the tables were clean, and there was a very pleasant ambience. Really reasonably priced with a good choice of options on the menu. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent little find.Clean, tidy and busy. Always a good sign.
I didn't know what to have for this evening's dinner and whilst driving home this afternoon I saw this farm shop. Called in and bought some leeks, red potatoes, pork, maple and chilli sausage and a few apples (which were itemised as grapes but soon rectified, ha ha ha). Dinner was sorted this evening with just those few ingredients and some store cupboard additions from home.... A Bangers, 2 lentil and butter bean mash pie with green beans and baby carrots. Will definitely be coming here again.
We popped in for breakfast and it was great, good value and really friendly staff. Table in the courtyard and we had our choice of sun or shade. Fresh water for the dog and a good steady stream of people going to the shop. Travelling north to Durham we came off the M62 at J24 and rejoined at J25. 5*
Lovely little cafe. Brilliant breakfast and Bacon sandwich. Then went next door to the shop. Butcher was fantastic. From Yorkshire originally I'd come in from Lincolnshire and was amazed to find tomato sausage which was lovely. Also beef short ribs and Barnsley chops. What a brilliant find. Everything wonderful and very reasonable. Just wish I lived closer. Thank you to everyone there. Xx any chance of delivery to Barton on humber?
Lovely, quality produce breakfasts, friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, reasonably pricing. Farm shop good qualify produce too! 💜
Really good range of produce, including some we haven't seen elsewhere. Haven't tried the cafe yet but it's on the list.
Second visit, we got to the cafe this time. A fair choice and we really enjoyed what we had.
This is one of Huddersfield's jewels and a true Yorkshire rose. A clean, comfortable and friendly farmhouse cafe where unadulterated fresh farm food of the highest quality is served unassumingly. Breakfast, lunches and light snacks are served with hot and cold drinks including beers. All the food is home made. The ambience is warm, relaxed and cosy ensuring a regular local following. There is farmshop next door and a working farm.
The Guinness Ale and Steak pies are the best pies around. Good size and plenty of quality filling. Allows them to just sneak it in a contest with their sausage rolls.
Our first visit, but not the last.
The wife and I stopped for lunch here purely by chance and would struggle to fault it. The service was a bit slow but unsurprising given that we ordered beef dinners. Personally I would prefer to wait for something that has been well cooked rather than your all too common reheated offerings.
There was also a very nice array of cakes that would test your self control.
If there was a fault i would suggest they could be trying to hard, my ice cream banana milk shake came nicely presented with chocolate sauce - I don't like chocolate sauce.
Fortunately for them I hate waste even more otherwise I would have sent it back.
The farm shop is very small but I did notice that it seemed to do a reasonable trade.
All three of us are coeliac and Villa Farm can accommodate. The food was tasty, eggs Benedict. The shop also has GF food, pies, scones etc and I found some GF black pudding! Nice!
