The Woodman Inn

Absolutely fabulous place and location. From the minute we booked in to when we left the staff were fantastic. Rooms very clean and all you needed was provided. Food delicious and well presented. Fantastic atmosphere. Will definitely go back for another stay. I hope they keep doing what they do as it is first class.

I recently photographed at wedding at the Woodman Inn and can only say positive things about the venue and how good it was to shoot at. The Garden Room is nestled away from the main Inn and is surrounded by woodland and streams, it's a lovely place to have a wedding and would highly recommend. Hotel was clean, tidy and well presented. We had booked 2 rooms as we were visiting family for an evening event over the road in the Garden Room. We were able to check in earlier than 3pm as the rooms were ready. We were in rooms #5 and #8 and both overlooked the front of the Inn and main road but there wasn't any noise from passing traffic as i think the inn is quite rural anyway. Both room had free coffee & tea making facilities and bottled water with biscuits and nibbles. The Bed was well comfy, so too were the pillows. - if there would be one reason to go back it would be the bed The standalone wardrobe had a hang rail which wasn't high enough for hanging dresses but just about for trousers and shirts , although there was hanging pegs on the walls. The shower was hot and powerful and came with shampoo and gel and the towels smelt fresh All doors upstairs were very noisy and creaky and slammed shut but we tried to hold the door so not to wake other guests but wasn't reciprocated by other guests. This could be down to the character of the inn as a whole as it was oldy worldly but had an open fire downstairs and wooden beams with stone walls, but didn't look like it was falling to bits. We didn't get chance to sample the breakfast as we had to leave the next morning earlier than 0830. Nice touch that the inn is also dog friendly and offered treats and snacks for dogs. All in all very nice place to stay but little overpriced

We were fortunate enough to find the Woodman Inn for our wedding in December 2023. We had a first class experience from start to finish. Our events manager Kieran was so accommodating- if you're looking for a relaxed and flexible venue then look no further. The staff team were incredible- every single one of them. Nothing was too much trouble. Our guests spoke so highly of their experience- from the rooms, to the food and everything in between. The catering was excellent- tailored to dietary requirements without any fuss. The location is perfect- tucked away without being in the middle of nowhere. Our day was seamless, everything was so well organised and we didn't need to worry about a thing. If we could get married again, we would choose The Woodman without hesitation. What a place!

Stayed in a room in a separate building on the opposite side of the road. It's been converted from an stone cottage and done well. Our room had a view out over a stream - v. pleasant. Main issue preventing 5 stars is the sound proofing: other guests coming and going and snoring from the room above very noticeable. Full Yorkshire breakfast was excellent.

The woodman inn hosted my wedding in November and I have nothing but high praise for all of the staff and the day it’s self. From the first show around to the day it’s self everything was taken care of. Kieron our events manager was incredible, happy to work with us to make our wedding vision come to life and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The room looked amazing throughout the day, the food was outstanding. All of our guests have raved about the food especially. The wedding day was seamless I didn’t have to worry about a single thing all day. The rooms we stayed in after were comfortable tastefully decorated and we all had a good night sleep. My parents loved the dog friendly room and the little dog treats that came with I honestly couldn’t thank the staff enough for everything they did. If anyone is thinking of booking a wedding there you won’t regret it. Special shoutout to Kieron and Ben who were just amazing.
