6 of us went for tea, 2 of our party were gluten free which always makes it hard as a family to eat out. We all had the early bird and the food was lovely. All came out at a reasonable time and we really enjoyed it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The gluten free food was really good and they even got to have pudding!

Proper great little Yorkshire pub. Surrounded by greenery and views for miles, great hearty food and a countryside atmosphere. If you're in Huddersfield you have to visit!

Popped in for a Sunday Roast after a day out. A lovely welcoming fire roaring in the bar area, but tables by it were busy so sat elsewhere in the bar area, which is dog friendly.
Ordered a drink and food, which came fairly quickly. Food nice and tasty.

Well what can I say it was absolutely stunning, table of 4, poached salmon, mushroom risotto, corn beef pie and a beautiful pheasant and cranberry pie all very exquisite and good value for money, waiter and waitress was very attentive and a warm welcoming atmosphere!! The best food iv ever tasted!! Will be back again for some more grub!!!

Been here many times, staff are always polite and helpful, decent " pub food" menu, including plenty of gluten free options all at reasonable prices and a wide selection of drinks. Well worth a visit .

We were there to eat, and so this is what I am rating here. The entertainment, quality of beers, and such are not included in my assessment.
Service was friendly yet respectful and attentive. A large selection of meals were offered on the menu, well described and labelled with dietary information and potential allergy risk.
The food was absolutely fresh and prepared to a very high standard, a delight frankly. Portions were extremely generous, and the dessert menu mouth watering, a great selection of sponge puddings particularly impressive.
Given the quality of the meals and the portion size, the pricing is beyond reasonable. I recommend this establishment for anyone who appreciates good, fresh, properly prepared food that isn't trying to be "cutting edge trendy" Excellent!

My friend and I had a wonderful 2 course Sunday Meal with drinks and it came to just over £30 which was extremely reasonable. The food was delicious and well portioned and the service and attention we received was spot on.

Location pretty good with good walks from here to reservoir and more- nice sized beer garden with views - and a great Yorkshire wrap ! Just no horseradish for it !!! Food was good anyway !

Food and drink were great, but gents toilet is awful and the staff were very slow and distant. Amazing location on a clear day, as pics show!
