As a general, I absolutely love wetherspoons, and it's a fact that some are better than others. The Lord Wilson was great. However, there were numerous things that , if tweaked, would make it amazing.
First of all, the food was amazing, and the speed it came out of the kitchen was outstanding. Let's just say my one year old niece approved.
However, when we entered the building, first of all, there was a load of tables which were either dirty or needed plates removing. The table we sat on was the cleanest of them all, and we still needed to wipe the table with a baby wipe. The walls and floor are full of scuff marks, and just general wear and tear, where all they need is a little attention to rectify. Also, where our table was, you could see where they put their empty glasses, which were all stacked. In general, the cleanliness could be improved, but the food and general service was okay.
Cons
I go here quite often now as a uni student and all I can do is really compliment it. As a student we get discounts that could lead to a meal only costing £3.99. The quality of food here is always high and I can reliably come here, knowing that I will get a good standard of service. This place is always pretty full due to its popularity but don't let this lead you astray as I have always been able to find a seat, and with friends this is the best place to go to socialise and have a good time.

Me and my friend truly enjoyed ourselves at this pub, with a glorious setting created by the lights and the pillars! My Ultimate Burger with chips and onion rings was absolutely delicious accompanied by rum with a lemonade mix, served in due time. The seating is comfortable and the area had cleanliness maintained, like the toilet that I used once. We enjoyed more drinks that tasted quality, though this pub sadly had run out of quite a few we asked for.

The Lord Wilson is the best bar in town. From the rock n roll bingo, to the DJ on Friday and Saturday night - where else would you want to go? But the real reason to head down to the pub is the Quiz on a Thursday Night. A fantastic atmosphere led by the charming host Gareth. He does a great job getting everyone involved and creating applause worthy entertainment. There’s a 5 * review “on its wayyyyy”

Went in for some breakfast before we watched the women's England match. Sat down and ordered a large breakfast and a drink. Before I'd even put my phone down after ordering, I already had my drink! Food came and was lovely and warm and tastes great! Really nice cheap and cheerful pub. I had my 6 month old with me and had to use the nappy changing facilities, the room itself was nice and big and easy to get everything out that you need BUT the changing table itself didn't feel very safe. It felt quite loose like it need tightening up a little bit. Apart from that, it was great!

Pretty nice, for a Wetherspoons. We've started popping in here for lunch occasionally when out in town at the weekend.
As an Untappd user I always try to look for ales I've not had before. The constantly rotating selection of real ales means there's something new to try wvery couple of weeks.
There is another Wetherspoons up towards the train station in town, and my children have affectionately named that one MankySpoons since they have discovered The Lord Wilson. They enjoy coming here to play boardgames sometimes.

Had breakfast here while waiting for something to open, you could sit down where ever, and either order at the bar or via the app (I used the app), the drink came relatively quickly and the food wasn't to far behind. I've definalty had better however for what you pay it was good.

Pub was spotless, staff looked happy which is the opposite of the cherry tree! The Manager on my visit 4/06/23 at around 8pm was very welcoming, We had a lovely chat. If you want a cheap fun place then this is the place to be! Spent less that £8 on a burger and a pint.

What makes the place is the fantastic quiz host, Gareth. His quizzes are the sole reason I go to Wetherspoons as entertaining and witty he is, hes just as much of an educator also

We went here midweek to celebrate Jed going to Falmouth University. We ordered food and drinks off the app which came quickly, brought by the friendly staff. There was an eclectic mix of customers which gave a great atmosphere ,students, locals and construction workers were all having a great time.We finished with cocktails which were lovely.
