21/07/23: back again for the Ale Trail. Lovely clean station, a couple of small shops for travel essentials. 16/06/23: Huddersfield Ale Trail

Interesting, due to the geography, much of the built up area is due to the steepness of the small valleys, around its centre. It has imposing buildings, marvellous architecture. The station and it's surroundings, many civic centers would die for. The main shopping area has all the amenities, you could ask for. The people are kind and generous with their time. In half a day, a good place to see, imwish I had more time to explore

Train station ok, clean and shiny. There weren't many waiting people when I got off the train. Quiet, there are also many shops. Outside there are several bus stops.

Historic town with quite a bit of history. Some beautiful architecture in the town, beautiful stone building. It's a pity the retail sector is in decline, many empty shops. It must have been wonderful in its prime.

No complaints regarding Huddersfield train station. Trains were on time (on a Saturday full of strike action) and its well served by taxi services, as well as being right in the town so you can literally step out of the building & go shopping. There are a few spots that could do with a lick of paint & a good scrub up with Mr Sheen etc, but otherwise a good station.

This was a solid station to both depart and arrive at, with appropriately sized platforms for the trains and staff checking tickets at the broken gates! Various departure boards make it easy to track services and similarly the signs help with navigation, as does the underground tunnel. This has ease of accessibility through both stairs and a lift, leading out to the main stations areas where cleanliness had been maintained!

Did not see the station cats on duty, however, seems to be a great medium sized station for travel between Manchester and Liverpool plus Leeds and York. A good selection of coffee and tea outlets are provided though better to have in sit in mode.
