The Anchor Riverside Pub And Restaurant

Came in yesterday with my daughter for brunch. And to find out what the place was like as we are coming here for Xmas day dinner. Was not disappointed the food was lovely and waitress attentive. She even showed my daughter where we would all be dining. Am looking forward to Xmas day with the family.

Our first time here, we turned up on Sunday lunchtime for something to eat. The tables were all fully booked, but the staff went above and beyond to find us somewhere. The service was prompt and polite and good humoured. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Can't fault anything.... Will definitely book in advance next time and get a table with a river view.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal f cod with new potatoes, churizo and spinach. Fish was beautifully cooked and the flavours in the meal were mouthwatering. Above all, our waitress had a lovely welcome for us, a lovely smile, sat us by the window with a view, was very attentive and made my elderly Mum's visit here a memorable one.

Great place to have dinner out ☺️with friends. Great variety of food and service was attentive. I had the chicken cesar salad and this was filling, being the chicken well cooked. It was a bit pricey but at the same time the place is really nice, food is really good and the kitchen seems utterly clean. I would definitely recommend!

First time there on recommendation of colleague at work. Not disappointed. Nice Modern Gastropub with a view of the river. Would be lovely to sit outside on a summer's day. Welcoming and attentive staff. We had the shared antipasti which was nice, maybe roccotta cheese might be too much. I have the Sumac Lamb Shank with was nice but slightly over done outside. My wife has the Buttered Cod which was tasty , tad too much chorizo. Good size portion . Price point a bit expensive overall. But a pleasant experience overall
