Absolutely stunning rooms, perfectly clean and modern.
The food was fresh and delicious but on the slightly more expensive side which for quality was understandable.
The service was friendly and helpful however slightly disorganised which added to the experience and wasn't a problem.
Would definitely stay again especially in spring or early summer.

Three decent Apple fritters on tap, well kept. Staff, although polite are a bunch of yutes and inexperienced at running a boozer, so service a bit tardy. Place is pleasant, clean with covered and heated outside area.

What a gem the Crown & Garter is! Lovely quiet location, rooms very comfortable and well appointed, staff friendly and attentive, the food is simply incredible, one of the best meals my wife and I have had in any hotel! Just make sure you leave room for breakfast as that is very good as well! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break, will definitely be returning ourselves!

What a gem of a stay.
Lovely rooms set on a gorgeous cottage garden courtyard.
Unfortunately no food available for our first night as restaurant and pub closes at 7 on a Sunday. But meal was nice the next evening.

Doesn't look much from the outside but once you walk in you see a clean stylish well run pub serving a good choice of wines and ales plus restaurant standard food . 10 ensuite rooms which are not the largest but are clean and serviceable. Great new seating area in the courtyard where the room are which will only get better as it matures . We'll situated for high clere Castle and other local attractions. Will definitely be going back.

Dog friendly, lovely comfortable rooms, very pretty location and friendly staff. Breakfast was really tasty with very good quality produce and meat.
Really lovely courtyard at the front of our rooms with tables and chairs to relax and chat on a summer night.
It shows that they care about the environment.
I would definitely recommend a stay in this beautiful place.

Nice place for an overnight stop after a day in Highclere - a bit of a tricky one to find though, nobody's SatNav coped well. Very comfortable rooms with good facilities and nice welcome. Courtyard is a lovely spot for a drink with friends.
Downside - I don't mind paying for breakfast separately from the room but any breakfast should include coffee, tea and or juice..they should never be added as overpriced extras

We actually went to the Honesty cafe, but then having the pub right there, we were able to suit every need and have a beer or a coffee. 🍻☕. Fantastic garden on a sunny day 💪

Well worth a drive out to find this pub - bit off the beaten track, but worth the journey. Great atmosphere, excellent beer & good food at honest prices (suggest book ahead). We needed gluten-free which they could do. Also dog-friendly (in bar) for those with muts. Good walks from the pub. We live out if area, and its our 4th visit there!

Had the most wonderful stay at this fine establishment. From the moment I arrived I felt taken care of. I had the most amazing room. A huge, comfortable bed, a bathroom with a great, powerful shower and most importantly a staff who were dedicated to ensuring you had the best time possible during your stay. The bar was a delight. A modest selection of ales, lagers and spirits but again a great atmosphere. A modern take on the warm, homely aspect of the traditional pub makes you feel like you’re no further afield than your local. Overall a fantastic stay!

We stayed in this beautiful location for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay, while visiting Bath, Oxford and Highclere Castle. We also made a long walk in the area.
The room was clean and warm, with good beds, lots of TV channels. The breakfast was free to choose from the menu and was freshly made for us. We even had dinner 2x and enjoyed it very much. Staff was professional and friendly. This was good value for money and we will be back!

We have stayed in some beautiful places across the whole of the UK and the Crown & Garter is top of our list! I just wished we could have given it 10 stars! The place is gorgeous, service excellent and Johnny the Manager is extremely professional and lovely. We are here at the moment, as we visited Highclere Castle and the Pharaoh Exhibition. Absolutely beautiful place, spotless. We would definitely visit again, can't wait 😀
