The Bear - Hungerford - Photo album

Lovely spacious room with a balcony and a large shower room. Comfortable bed. Nice evening meal and breakfast very good. Service at breakfast not so good on the first day, but much better second day. The room could have done with some coat hooks and a safe.
We rendezvoused with our family here for lunch. You can judge a pub/hotel quite often by the salad it serves. Is it tipped from a bag? or did time and effort go into the preparation? The Bear excelled. The food was very good and the children's menu was very thoughtful. Very competitive pricing and g
The bar/restaurant area is very nice, the staff are great...friendly, efficient and bubbly. Good menu looked very nice but unfortunately we'd arranged to meet friends elsewhere for dinner so didn't eat on site, (looking at the menu, we wished we had eaten in). Nice decor and some interesting history
It was our 34th Wedding Anniversary. We chose The Bear as we had beverage stayed in Hungerford before and we were attending the Battle Proms at Highclere Castle. We had a lovely room away from the main hotel, with a balcony overlooking a stream. We had a lovely evening meal on the first night. Great
Dave Cato of Citroën UK organised a lunch for retired colleagues and the service and food were both good. We’re coming again in November, so a repeat of good food and service will be welcome. All the best Pete Byrne 👌🇫🇷😀
Loved the venue, definitely older. Parking not an issue - make sure you log your reg no on arrival Great Sunday lunch. Beef just a bit overcooked. Plenty of Yorkshire pud, roasties and veg. People serving excellent BUT need to be more attentive - opportunity to sell more missed.
Only visited for food and drinks, didn't stay in hotel. Great food, arrived quickly even though it was fairly busy. Friendly staff, overall very pleasant. Fantastic vegan burger and bakewell tart!
Despite some food shortages in the lunch menu we enjoyed a delicious meal, particularly the beef and pancetta lasagne. Service was excellent. Staff were pleasant and helpful
We managed to get a table in the bar but most were reserved so try to book excellent meal as usual.
Great location, very comfortable room. The location Is within walking distance of the High Street in a simply gorgeous town. Excellent value for money. Thank you.
Very pleasent staff. Wonderful old coach house with converted stables and large courtyard. Hungerford is a really pleasant town .
Was a very wet day when we spotted the bear open for food, and we where not disappointed lovely and cosy warm and friendly pub nothing any trouble even tho we all looked like drown rats, my grandchild had just finished her first triathlon at the age of 8 in awful weather. Thank you to all

This evening Arthur's (and co.'s) service was impeccable and a shining example of efficient, smiley, personalised and warm service. It sounds simple but I know from experience working in the position it isn't easy and it is rarely found, so is much appreciated here. Have visited 5 or so times and t
Good clean room. Decent food. Bit cold in the bar. All the staff had coats n scarves on .lol
We stayed in the accommodation here and loved it The building is really old you can tell when you look out of the window across the roof tops Our room was lovely, it felt like it had been recently refurbished, it wasn't over big but kind of expected with the age of the original building The bathroom
