Walked in looking for somewhere for dinner and we were greeted by a young man who was fantastic and helpful. We ordered drinks and sat outside for a short while until the restaurant opened at 5:30.
We went in at 5:30 and already the room was filling up. The service was fantastic, the staff were fantastic and the food was fantastic. My husband had the fish and sweetcorn soup to start with, then the fish Thai curry. I had the rib eye steak. The food was outstanding, served hot on hot dishes. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. Would highly recommend and would visit again next time we come over to Hunstanton (it's a long way from Stockport!)
Well this was a delightful spot for dinner. We arrived a little earlier than anticipated which wasn't a problem. There looked like to be some sort of staffing issue but this was turned round really quickly and had no impact on the service. Crazy busy but super efficient. They were really accommodating of one of our guest's requests. Thank you for that, exorcising as he loved his puttanescs! Burger was devoured by one guest with abandon.
My hake was so meaty and the samphire complimented it well. The chocolate truffle torte was bombastic. Lots of good things going on, the brittle was my favourite. Tried the tempura and that was fresh as. Winner. Everyone at the table raved about their dish.
Glad we found this place! Lovely food and staff. Very busy but the chefs were working flat out to keep us all eating well. Would highly recommend
What a beautiful restaurant. Went to celebrate with my new fiance. We had lobster it was amazing. Then we had three deserts as we couldn't decide what to have. The food is amazing the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is perfect. Would highly recommend 👌
One of the nicest restaurant I’ve been to. Service with a smile, pleasant staff. Food presented really well made fresh. it's was my first time I had lobster and it's was cooked to perfection lovely restaurant to go with your partner they make you feel welcome.
As a family we’ve been coming here since it very first opened… with its prime High Street location, first rate service, and an outstanding array of chefs… what’s not to like!!!

We turned up at Chives quite late on a Sunday evening (7:40pm) and wanted something light to eat that basically didn't involve greasy batter and chips. In Hunstanton, this is more difficult than you'd think.
The kitchen was closing fairly soon so we were extremely grateful for Chives being able to accommodate us.
Service was a bit scattergun but we had no complaints otherwise. We enjoyed the dishes that we'd chosen...what I wanted to eat was a smoked mackerel salad with feta-cheese. I didn't get that, but my salad was good.
A good wine list and decent coffee - we'd definitely be back when in the area.

Only negative, and it is slight, I would have appreciated being asked how I liked the venison cooked. Mine was well done, but girlfriend's was med-rare.
But the gravy/jus worked to save it.
We tried to get into this place the night before but it was packed to the rafters. Intrigued, we went back the next day at lunch time and got ourselves a table. The food is definitely worth the effort. It also serves Cruzcampo, our favourite Spanish beer. My wife had mulligatawny soup for the first time in her life and loved it. I remember when you get get that in all kinds of places. You can't even get that in a supermarket nowadays. So, kudos to them for keeping such a delicious little dish alive. The service was excellent and the staff friendly and chatty without being to in your face. It was just the one meal but we go to Hunstanton every year and we are quite keen to see what else they can do so, we will be going back, for sure.
