Great little find at Folkestone harbour. Go straight upstairs through the pub (The Mariners) and head straight upstairs to the restaurant. Proper authentic Indian, interesting dishes, not just madras and tikka etc. (although these available too) Some extra bits and bobs thrown in for free. Bread exceptional. Recommend the spicy chicken dish from the chef's specials, also the aubergine side. Will definitely return!!

Recently opened above the Mariner's pub. The views from the french windows are delightful. It adds to the whole experience of eating in the comfortable restaurant. We were a table of four. We all had a different curry. I tried everyone's and each dish was spiced differently. They were all totally delicious. The side dishes were like nothing l had ever eaten before. Potato, dall, beautiful so different. Meat was tender. Service was great and the chef came out to discuss his dishes. Couldn't fault anything. Superb.

Lovely food and great service! Little hard to find in the basement of the Hythe Imperial but well worth the look! 😂

Wow. what an amazing experience. The food was so delicious and delicately spiced. Even the drinks menu impressed - we tried an authentic Indian wine and ordered two bottles. I ate from the vegan menu and loved the baby aubergine dish and the sweetcorn fritters in particular. My partner tried the goat and said it was perfectly tender. We were also treated to some little surprise dishes, which made the evening even more special. It is obvious that they care about food and service.

What a find! Somewhat buried at the base of the Hythe Imperial Hotel, next to the pool area, is a really nice “boutique” Indian restaurant. The imaginative and not too lengthy menu was more than well supported by great personal service and great food served with flair. To be welcomed with chef’s treats of samosas as a “taste bud warm up” was lovely and the thimble of soup between starter and main was delicious. Both starters and mains were brilliant. What’s not to like??

You can see from the reviews that this restaurant is highly regarded and its reputation is justified. I confess to being disconcerted when I found out it is part of the Imperial but my fears were allayed. Service was friendly, efficient and helpful. I can't comment on much of the menu as my partner and I had the same dishes but we enjoyed the freshly cooked fish which had just the right amount of spice and fresh herbs. I was reassured when the waiter informed us that they'd run out of Monkfish but could replace it with white fish. At least this meant it wasn't a frozen microwave meal. Another reassuring aspect is the menu itself. Usually overlong in Indian restaurants...meaning that none of it is fresh ...the menu here is varied but realistic. Why not 5 stars...well the decor is a little austere and the only reminder that you are in the Imperial.

Thoroughly enjoyed the different dishes at their restaurant and the samples in between courses were a tasty and welcome touch. Staff were very attentive and informative about the different dishes. Would definitely go back to try other dishes in the menu. Monk fish curry was delicious and at reasonable prices.

Our first visit and my partner & I were very impressed. The food was absolutely delicious in every aspect. The lamb Rogan Josh just melted in the mouth, and while there is a small dessert menu, they really perfected their options. The sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake was just lush. Lovely, calm and relaxing atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. When we come back to Hythe Imperial, we will have no difficulty in choosing where to eat. We will be back :)

As a picky vegetarian Indian, I had a tasty meal served by cordial staff - Saag Paneer and Malai Kofta were nicely prepared and the breads were soft. The chefs compliment mini samosa's were delicious 😋. Food quantity is a bit less than what I'd expect. Overall a gem!

Delicious curry and side dishes. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Lovely little touches between the courses with interesting and tasty ideas from the chef. Certainly a good choice for a meal that feels made from scratch with great ingredients, intricate flavours, and decent portions. And the staff are wonderful too.

We just had dinner in the Holy Pundit at the Imperial Hotel. The food and service were exceptional. My wife is coeliac and they catered they had a great understanding of the need for gluten free and lots of possible options. I had the lamb Rogan Josh and it was perfect. Best I've had in a long time.

Thank you! My wife and I so enjoyed our two meals with you on Saturday and Sunday. The service was friendly and efficient, the staff ever so helpful, the atmosphere was cozy and we loved the decor. And the food ......! The food was absolutely delicious. Well cooked with a sensitive use of spices and flavours and a great variety. As you know it was our Ruby Wedding anniversary on Sunday and our meal with you made the day special.
