Really good Wetherspoons pub. A bit earthy and raw inside, but well behaved. Nice friendly staff, clean & comfortable.
The food was great, and at great value prices too. An enjoyable visit to an exceptionally good well run Spoons.
I was taken to lunch to the Great Spoon 3 December 2019 and $ August 2023 but was eager to have the Gourmet Meatless Farm™ Burger, chips and a Mango Monster cocktail {Raspberry Mocktail in 2023). . . . it didn't disappoint, in fact I was surprised at how good it was, enthusing to the waitress when she came to see how we were.
This burger was succulent and rich, with beef tomatoes, lettuce and red onions and lovely chunky chips, delicious.
During my 2019 visit it smelt of stale beer, the menu's feel sticky and I did have to ask for our 12 noon table to be cleaned, but the staff were pleasant, the food fantastic and even the ladies toilets were clean and tidy if up a flight of stairs(there's a accessibility one on the ground floor). In 2023 there was less beer smell and all tables were cleaned
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and had there been any vegan desserts (both times the Apple Crumble online wasn't available) I'd have had more than just a cup of tea to round the meal off. I'd have preferred to sit outside on the terrace but my friend is more delicate and wanted to be in the shade
Even though it was August there were no kids about so it's a nice place to escape to for a child free few hours
I would recommend it for a good casual meal at a low price.
If you're in the mood for delicious food and excellent service, this pub is a great choice. The menu features a range of tasty options (Vegan options as well) and staffs are friendly. Good option for a casual meal or a night out with friends, this pub provides a great atmosphere.
A Delightful Experience at the Great Spoon of Ilford
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had the pleasure of visiting the Great Spoon of Ilford for drinks and was thoroughly impressed by the variety and affordability they offered. The establishment boasts an extensive selection of beverages, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences.
The variety is truly commendable, with options ranging from classic cocktails to unique house specials. Whether you're a fan of traditional drinks or looking to try something new, the Great Spoon of Ilford has got you covered.
What truly sets this place apart, however, is its pocket-friendly prices. Despite the high quality and variety of the drinks, they are priced very reasonably, making it an excellent choice for both casual outings and special occasions.
In conclusion, the Great Spoon of Ilford offers a fantastic drinking experience that combines variety, quality, and affordability. It's a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great time without breaking the bank. Cheers to the Great Spoon of Ilford! 🥂
After our induction day today, we decided to go to this place, instead of ordering food. It was a nice experience in a nice atmosphere. The staffs were kind and they helped us to find the right meals providing options. Liked their mini libraries in the boxes. They have nice pictures on their walls. My meal was well presented (… as you can see in one of my pictures.) … and I found out, they have gardens for smokers and non smokers too.
Great,it wasn't too busy on that day. I enjoyed my glass of wine while we had dinner with my friend. My favourite thing about this place is bcs has divided tables with beaches left side of the pub when u enter in. It also has some pictures and books perfect for people who want to just to sit read a book while having a drink by them self perfect for me ;) after work to relax with or without my kids.
Great place. The coffee is just 1.02 and you can have free refills. The prices are very cheap. There is a lot of place and it is also clean. I come there every week.
Nice cheap food and drinks, atmosphere is usually good too.
Service on the other wasn't good when my wife and I went.
Waited at bar for ages to be served, female bartender was there talking to a waiter, saw us as soon as we approached the bar and turned away.
I intentionally coughed and eventually said "excuse me" a couple of times.
She turned, looked at us and turned her back to us again, and continued talking away.
An Indian male came out and served us immediately.
We were about to walk out too.
A wonderful pub in Ilford to wile away the time on a rather disappointingly cloudy day. The staff were lovely; pleasant, polite and attentive - although not too much. There are a few tables out the front and a larger beer garden out the back. Inside, it's the standard decor you expect from a spoons. The Guinness was excellent.
I recently visited The Great Spoon of Ilford - JD Wetherspoon, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The pub had a vibrant atmosphere, friendly staff, and a wide selection of drinks and food. The prices were reasonable, and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. Overall, it was a great place to relax, enjoy good company, and indulge in some delicious pub fare.
Good food, nice place and very friendly staff. Good prices too. Definitely worth a second visit
Great Spoons. Nice friendly place with a mix of locals and people like me working away from home. Food was cheap and cheerful as ever but cooked well, short waiting time and really great value. As usual loads of good drinks at great prices.
