S&p Fish Shop And Cafe

Whenever we visit Ilfracombe we always make sure to eat at S & P, we've been visiting for many years and the seafood is always good. This experience was even better though as it appears the menu had been revamped. We had the smaller of the seafood platters which came with half a lobster, a dressed crab, mackerel fillets, smoked salmon, shell on prawns, crevettes, de-shelled prawns, mussels, cockels, crayfish tails and whelks along with salad, dips and bread and butter. The fish was delicious and the portion size was good. The seating area is also dog friendly and the staff made a fuss over our giant breed dog and made sure he had water and treats. The only downside was the whelks were a bit small and flavourless but apart from that the rest of the food was fantastic.

This Fish shop is amazing, filled with quality seafood. We visited with family when we were staying local to Ilfracombe last year and we enjoyed it so much we returned whilst staying in Exmouth nearly 2 hours away ! You can’t go wrong with anything you order here, it is all fresh as can be and really well presented. Service was excellent too and as I was on crutches I was given an accessible table. Strongly advise you to book if you can ! If you are near to Ilfracombe this is a must visit place to eat !

Such an excellent find for delicious and fresh seafood! My husband and I were looking for a seafood restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We saw this online and booked it and we weren't disappointed. It is only a small café, with limited tables, and outside only. It's right on the harbour side, which was a bit chilly on a cooler day in summer - so take/ wear layers. The staff were friendly and service was really good and fast. The shellfish supreme platter for 2 was amazing and a huge portion. I would absolutely recommend trying it and we'll definitely go back!

Popped over to S & P pre lockdown to grab some fresh mussels for some Spanish dishes we are trying out in our kitchen for our instagram. Amazing produce and a great selection, and while I was there grabbed half a pre cooked lobster I took home for lunch .. Delicious!! Pictures below how it turned out.
