Had a lovely date night meal here a couple weeks ago, I'd been eyeing up this restaurant for a while and hadn't gotten around to booking in, I wish I hadn't waited. The starters were lovely, we both had calzones and they were packed full of toppings! The staff were very friendly and even asked if I'd like a substitution when I asked for no mushroom. We only took photos of the starters (caprese salad and whitebait), the caprese was very well presented.
Very lovely atmosphere, and decor, would recommend to anyone looking for a nice (non chain) Italian in Ipswich!

Went here for a wedding celebration, it was absolutely outstanding!!! The atmosphere was unique and warm, the service was friendly and well timed for our whole party to be eating together, and the food was gorgeous, everything was well presented and cooked wonderfully, the steak was juicy and lean, covered in a lovely mushroom sauce, the roast potatoes reminded me of home, and the tiramisu was made fresh and honestly I've never tasted tiramisu like it, the perfect balance of bitter and sweet flavours, soft and creamy texture. 100% reccomend this restaurant, especially for celebrations !!!

Tavernetta serves wonderfully fresh and authentic Italian/Sicilian food. We were met with a big welcome and even on a busy Saturday lunchtime they found us a great table. The menu choices were wide and authentic and we chose from a selection of starter/sharing plates.
The food was freshy prepared and quick to arrive as they were ready. We had some local dishes you wouldn't always get from a standard 'high street' Italian, like like Arancini and Mozzarella en Carozza.
The food was tasty and the portions were huge! We definitely over ordered! Luckily, the staff provided us with some 'doggy bags' to enjoy the leftovers at home.
The wine list looks exciting and we hope to get into it on our next visit.

Authentic, simple yet delicious Italian food! We came away full, satisfied and very happy to find this amazing restaurant. The passion and attentiveness from the staff is first class. Amazing cocktails, tasty and beautifully presented, even the non-alcoholic versions were delicious. Everything from the salad, dressed and seasoned just like in Italy to the fresh ingredients in the main dishes. The portion were substantial even the seafood starter (highly recommend). Everything was spot on and we love the bar area for drinks too - We will definitely be returning SOON even if it’s just for an Aperol Spritz! Not one to miss out on! A great new addition to the town centre!

It’s been 7 years since we lived in Italy and this was the first restaurant I have come across that has food straight out of Italy. The pizza was true Italian pizza and same with the desserts. The other dishes at our table ordered by my friends looked incredible and were! The aroma in the restaurant made it known the perfection and authenticity coming from the kitchen. Amazing food and service!

We have just returned from our first visit to this relatively new restaurant. We have always thought that Ipswich lacks an authentic Italian restaurant, well not anymore!
The service is wonderful, the staff are so polite and friendly and the food is amazing. We had such an enjoyable evening and at such a reasonable price. We are so pleased we found this little gem of a place and will certainly be returning soon
