The Nelson - Ipswich - Photo album

Excellent locals pub near the dock area. Good limited menu.choice of ale's. Outside seating. Friendly staff.
Called here last Sunday afternoon and received a warm welcome. The Ghost Ship was in good fettle but it is served via tap on a wood keg, not hand pulled, so you don't get a good head all the way down like we Northerners like! The chili beef nachos and Sunday roast pork dinner were very good indeed.
Lovely traditional pub with real ale directly from the cask. Nice food. Not the cheapest but definitely worth it 😁
An excellent pub with great beer and food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff and very kid-friendly too. Recommended.
Good quality food in a lovely we’ll behaved adult atmosphere. Fantastic gem of a pub. No negative thoughts. Had veggie roast dinner. Lovely and tasty. Staff are wonderful, very friendly and attentive. Adnams ale with plenty of choices. Will definitely be back.
While staying in the marina we found this lovely welcoming pub with excellent beers and food. Stayed all evening playing board games and tasting different Suffolk ales. Very dog friendly.
Good selection of beers, nice atmosphere, two log burning fires and the food is well worth venturing into, what more do you need.
A proper pub. Very friendly staff. Lovely little beer garden out the back. A great selection of drinks.
Great little pub right in town centre and only 10 meters from the marina. Great food and beer, the special is 3 ales for £9. During covid, lunch runs until 2, then opens back up for dinner. Need to order a meal with drinks while in Tier 2.
Hearty portions that taste good. Proper pub grub what isn't to like??? Service is a little relaxed but friendly (might also be as we went on a weekday).
Nice pub I have not been there in a while so popped in last sat evening for a pint or 2, worth a visit, can't comment on the food as I didn't eat.
Friendly staff, ample portions and good quality food and drink.
I had a meal and a few drinks here whilst visiting Ipswich. This is a lovely old pub with bags of character. The staff were really friendly and the service was good. Staff were attentive but not overly so. The restaurant and bar area has a low ceiling with a number of alcoves for more intimate dinin
A not to busy but great atmosphere pub. It comes across a bit querky too. Not sure why. It's a really old pub with lots of character and ale served straight from the barrels. Lovely.
Checked another pub off my list in ipswich and this one was great. Friendly staff, and we sat and played trivia for way longer than we intended and I had three drinks more than I intended and if that isn't the sign of a great pub I don't know what is.
Amazing roast dinner!.. service was great too! Very friendly helpful staff. Will definitely be visiting again soon! Thank you 😁
