A lovely place to stop and have a refreshing beverage while walking the Stour and Orwell Walk.
Friendly landlord and good selection of beers.
We didn't try their food (hence only 4 stars) but will definitely be back to try later.
Lovely warm feeling in the dining room and a lovely little beer garden.

Will definitely go back to this country pub with a nice grassy garden and places for the kids to play imagination games while the adults chat. Friendly staff and close to a footpath down to a beach on the Stour for kids and dogs to cool off.

Loved it. Very friendly, helpful staff. We got caught in a downpour on a walk and they gave us hot water bottles to warn us up and ordered us a taxi. There were also toys for the dog to play with They had Aspalls cider and we had a sharing platter. Will definitely be back.

Really nice pub with two gardens. Hidden gem. If your doing the coastal path walk and want a pit stop this is surely the place. 5 min walk off of the beaten track perfect for lunch time beer before continuing on!

Decided to visit as our local butcher provides the meat. We had Gammon, egg & Chips and it was lovely. The gammon was cooked in Aspalls cider and honey and was so delicious I could have eaten an entire plate. A lovely village pub with snug bar and restaurant with open fire. Aspalls and selection of beers on tap. We'll definitely be back.

We LOVE this pub & we LOVE Michael (landlord) and his family. Itâs a real rural gem with great beer & good home made food. Dog friendly AND miniature horse friendly. We took our two mini horses & sat in the sun in the lovely garden full of dogs & chickens & had a thoroughly relaxing afternoon! Ps itâs a lovely walk along the river from Stutton & Royal Hospital School.

Recently taken over, it's a lovely pub, typically Victorian inside and just lovely. The restaurant has been refitted out and looks great. Had a lunch snack here and it was brilliant, home cooked gammon ham on lovely bread.
Three selections of real ale on hand pump; lovely beer garden outside.
Wednesday night is currently curry night (as of May 2014) and from the owner said they are very popular so might give it a try one Wednesday night.
Toilets are very clean, running hot and cold water; soap and hand dryer, doesn't smell unlike some I have been in.
