We went for a pre Christmas meal. There was a Christmas menu option, along with the regular menu and carvery, there was a Christmas extras menu. So several options to choose from. Everywhere was clean, with plenty of space between tables, the Christmas decorations good. The service was ok, depending who we got. The initial welcome was good with Christmas crackers being given. There is adequate parking and disabled facilities. Oh, and there is a children's area, but I didn't explore that. Everyone enjoyed their food, it was cooked well and tasty, which is the main thing. Although limited amounts of chips were given. The desert and Ice cream counter offered a wide eye, wow selection. Overall it was a very good experience and for the deserts alone, I would return.

Booked table for 5 of us in advance, had shared chicken platter, lovely and hot, we had a mix of main courses, 2 of us had the carvery , 1 small and 1 regular, both were fully loaded. Desserts were huge and delicious, had the chocolate éclair and could not finish lol. Will be back again.

I would very much like to thank: Tania, Mark, Ian, Mike and all the other staff serving up, waiting, cooking, and greeting the customers – for making sure we had such an amazing experience today. It was our first time dining at Chestnut Tree Farm. There were three of us: Myself, John (my brother in-law), and Kim (my sister). Firstly, upon entry, we were pleasantly surprised and somewhat shocked at how big this restaurant was inside, and how wonderfully the seating was set out replete with Xmas decorations. Everything looked lovely. We were greeted warmly and our booking was located quickly and efficiently with a smile. After being shown to our table, the ordering process was explained and we were left to settle ourselves in. It was very busy, but there were three young ladies serving at the bar who were very professional, very prompt and very friendly. We felt like appreciated customers. We chose a carvery meal for each of us and we're so glad we did! We all swear to God that it was the best carvery we've ever had. I had: roast gammon, roast beef, carrots, brussel sprouts, roast potatoes, new potatoes, mashed potato, pigs in blankets, yorkshire puddings, stuffing, roast parsnips, cauliflower cheese, and dauphinois potatoes. For afters I had the Eton Mess Sundae and, oh my God! It was without any shadow of a doubt the best sundae I've ever been served. What a lovely experience coming to Chestnut Tree Farm. The atmosphere was great, service was top notch, food was out of this world, and we left feeling full up, sleepy and looking forward to coming back again. Also, thank you to all the staff today. They were all so professional, quick, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and, in our opinion, underappreciated.

Went here to book a table for 2 weeks time. Tanya at reception was very helpful. It was not as busy as I thought it would be Ipswich playing at home!Stopped for a coffee, was going to have a cake, but they were all so huge and looked delicious. But in the end I decided on a Hunter's melt bap and chips, gosh it was so good. I would highly recommend this place.

We went here on a recommendation and are so pleased we did. We were a group with one wheelchair user and the whole experience was so good we went back for breakfast the next morning. Staff were terrific and dealt with a birthday cake smoothly. The food is standard gastropub fare but from a huge, varied menu at a reasonable price. Thank you for looking after us and giving us time to enjoy our celebration.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, clean and good value for money. We had the carvery which wasn't overly warm but the meat was very well cooked and the desserts looked delicious. I would definitely return again and would be comfortable doing so as a lone traveller.

There was 6 of us booked in for Sunday lunch. Atmosphere was buzzing, lots of people and food smelled amazing. Unfortunately my food came out cold and one of the kids plates came out with half the stuff missing but this was soon rectified, hence the 4 stars. Staff were polite, friendly and working hard. We sat on table 44 and had a lovely big table by the window, it was a nice spot. We will be back again.

The food was excellent and the portions were large. I couldn’t believe how much was on my plate. It’s a busy place and quite noisy, which is to be expected as the prices are exceptionally low for what you get. The service was good and the staff work very hard to keep everyone happy. Overall experience was very good and I’d recommend the Chestnut Tree to anyone who’s a little short on cash and want a good night out. Thank you to all the hard working staff.

This is one of those places that once you've tried it you'll be hooked. From breakfast to dinner, they serve fabulous food, cooked on the premises every day. Buffet breakfast and carvery during the day, with a tremendous range of cakes and puddings. The staff team is tremendous and always work hard for their customers. Also worth mentioning is the ample car park and it's air conditioned.

I went to the Cheshunt Tree for the first time last week, and it was alright. It reminded me of The Mermaid down the road when that first opened. I believe they are run by the same company. I had a standard size carvery, which was very nice, three different types of meat with all the trimmings, sauces, and gravy. The staff were friendly, informative and service was swift despite the queue as they opened up another till at the bar. We did go on a Monday at 6.30pm booked in advance, it was half term, most tables were full not sure if that is usual level of guests at the venue. There was a tasty looking array of cakes but I was too full on this occasion to eat any so I guess we'll be back to try out the desserts. I'd recommend this place if you are looking for a family friendly place or just somewhere to catch up with a friend.

Popped in for a catch up with an old co-worker. What a lovely place! Prompt service, caring waiter and funny bar staff. Spoke to the manager too, a very knowledgeable man. We couldn’t resist the cake selection and even took a slice home for dinner. Really looking forward to visiting again and soon hopefully
