The Coffee Pot

An absolutely fantastic cafe in Ryde serving scrumptious home made food. The chicken pie, lamb stew and cheese sandwiches were absolutely superb. We just managed to find space for the home made apple pies and apple crumbles with custard, which provided more of the same magic! Everything at fair prices (a nice cup of tea was a £1 !) and very importantly, really lovely staff. A chap with some apparent mental health issues entered and the owner immediately went over and chatted with him to make him feel valued. A lovely human gesture especially as he didn't actually buy anything. Lovely people, nice atmosphere and terrific food. NB: Don't forget to ask them about the two nuns and the streaker...🤣🤣

Lovely breakfast in here this morning (the sausages and beans are very yummy) and staff are lovely. Coffee is OK and is only a £1 a cup. Reasonably priced breakfast as well. Giving 5 stars because it's a small local independent business and you can only be negative about the following (if you were being really picky): - The shelves with all the old items on need a good clean/dust and organising. - breakfast took about 50 mins to come - my egg was completely raw on top, the white was running out all over my plate - the bacon was really salty and I couldn't eat it - the hash browns are horrible
