Had lunch here on a very busy Sunday and they managed to fit us in late without a booking. Great food, very delicious. Staff were very friendly and attentive even though they were busy. If I'm ever in the area would definitely eat here again.

We stopped off for Sunday lunch this afternoon and I have to say it was delightful!! The venue, is lovely, the food was excellent and the manager and staff were very professional and helpful. Excellent choice of beers and expertly crafted. Special thanks to the chef ! We had the sirloin roast with Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes and vegetables. The quality, taste and presentation was outstanding ! Thank you Both our deserts were equally excellent as was the coffee. A real gem in the heart of rural English countryside! A rare thing these days I promise you that you will not be disappointed. Unfortunately I didn’t get the hosts names, but it is quite obvious that this is a very successfully run establishment. Once again, thank you to you all. When we are back in the area, we will definitely be back 👍

Wholesome food, prepared quite quickly. This was a good find on a bank holiday Monday when other pubs in the area were closed or not serving food. We and the dogs were made welcome by friendly staff. The pub is exceptionally pretty and in a lovely area.

Shannon was exceptional - booked a late room - separate mini lodge style rooms, look brand new - clean and airy. Staff wonderful, food excellent.

Had a meal with family on mother's day and found the service and food was fantastic. Staff were very helpful and quick with food and drinks orders. I had a delicious beef noodle starter followed by sea bass main. Both were very good. Would definitely go back.

A beautiful pub with accommodation and is ideally situated for people on the river nene, people walking the old track/ and Nene way and is in the stunning village of Islip near Thrapston, a few minutes from the A14. Service was really prompt and the staff were very friendly too. Ample parking and a nice little pub garden. Worth a look, lovely place.

Was taken here by my son, lovely clean homely pub/hotel in Islip in the heart of Cambridgeshire, myself and my wife had the fish and chips fantastic haddock with a light and crispy batter home made chips and tartare sauce, fine pint of morretti also, huge beer garden too, would definitely return.

A lovely country inn with good food. We popped in for lunch while travelling along the A14 and were delighted with what we found. The pub is well run. The menu is not adventurous, but what they do, they do well and we were satisfied. There are plenty of walking options either before or after meals. Surely a much better option than a service station!

Can't fault this place, hidden gem, and would have no idea it's a greene king. Highly recommended, food is lovely, the duck parfait was delicious, and the breakfast was a needed start to the day. The rooms are great and will definitely stay again if in the area

The pub was a short cycle ride from where we were staying. Cycled along the canal and river, the pub was very friendly, and all the locals said hello. Very clean inside, ample parking available.

Very nice and welcoming pub. There is also a restaurant here which looks great and also some hotel/ b&b rooms. Great village feel location but 1 min away from the a14.
