Sort’ve meandering our way back to England and I decided we pick here. Very family oriented pub, with friendly staff and a quick service. The portion sizes are huge, but all the food we had was tasty. I bought back the rest of my pepperoni pizza with me, it was so moorish. Nice and decent prices as well. Would recommend, plus if ever coming back to Scotland we’ll call again if in the area.
Overall very happy. Only a couple of small issues.
Couple of front of house staff were a little grumpy and not very hospitable. I do understand why though as you were very busy.
Food was amazing apart from the salad that came with the macaroni could have done with some salad dressing.
Other than that very happy with everything. Worth all the pennies :)
The portion is huge! I had a dish of deep fried haddock with coleslaw, salad, peas and chips. The bread crumb was nicely seasoned and so crunchy whilst the fish was so juicy. I was impressed with haggis balls. They were simply deep fried with crispy batter, but so tasty. The burgers! They have all sorts of burgers that satisfy all taste buds and huge appetite. I highly recommend this place especially if you are going with children. The prices are very reasonable.
Been going to the waggon for quite some time and has its moments where service isn't as good but most of the time service is brilliant and food is lush!
Booked table, as advised by locals, for Sunday lunch. We had the Carvery, and it was excellent. We booked again for an Evening meal on the following Thursday. Once more, the food was excellent. The service on both occasions was attentive and helpful.
We went here for a family birthday meal. The place was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The catered for all of the dietary requirements and allergies. The childrens meals were good and they enjoyed them. The food was lovely and we all enjoyed it. It was very reasonably priced and we had a great time. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will return here.
Similar to classic pub food, but the burger was very tasty and well worth the money. The chips were very good too. The service was impeccable. And they don't close at 7.30pm like the majority of the places in the area.
Usually visit here with my daughter during the week. Always busy. Friendly and fast service. Food is good enough for pub food. Decent options on the menu. Good kids menu.
Absolutely amazing Lamb Roast dinner. Prices extremely reasonable and excellent service.
Stopped off at Kelso on way back to Dundee. Looked around for someplace to have lunch when i remembered about the Wagon inn. It was well worth the visit, great choice of food to choose from the menu and at reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and gave good service. We will come back here again, if or when we visit Kelso.😊
We had a lovely afternoon here, with great food and service. However, we are extremely grateful to Kirsty who helped us with our dog when he started convulsing while choking on food. She was so calm and helpful during such a scary time. Thank you for your amazing support!
Really nice casual restaurant, perfect for a light lunch or dinner. Great for small groups too.
They have vegetarian and gluten free options available on the menu which can be viewed/downloaded from the website which is ideal if you need help deciding what you want before you go.
It's quiet and warmly lit with no loud music which is perfect for those with sensory needs. It's nicely spaced out with decent wheelchair access.
Though it's not on the list to tick, I'd definitely recommend the pizza, especially if you love a thick base and mozzarella.
Was recommended this place from a friend we were in the area so tried it and not disappointed great food service and price would recommend to anyone who visits Kelso and needs food The Waggon is the place to go !
Lovely pub in Kelso. Food was reasonably priced & a great Choice. Staff were extremely helpful. Definitely would go back
Excellent restaurant, we take our 87 year old dad, who is disabled. The staff are very friendly and attentative and the food is great, very reasonably priced. Sunday is a carvery, the meat was delicious, the beef was not rubbery like some carveries. Highly recommended.
Great service, really good food and big portions. Good selection of beers.
