If I'm honest were slightly tipsy by the time we arrived so this could could have influenced my review. The staff came across very friendly and helpful, the general atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I'm not one for bars but I do like the feel of this place. The drinks were very good (possibly the best cocktails in Kendal?) and I felt reasonably priced.

Love this place in the day time for a noval coffee on a slate, served with a glass of water and a triangular nibble of brownie! Gorgeous food selection available. Atmosphere changes to a chilled Gin bar in the evening with special events happening regularly.

Had a tasty lunch in this relaxed cafe. Large selection of gins and craft beers, good meal sizes and decent value. Staff were prompt and friendly.

Funky. Modern. Fun. Some of the words if use to describe the newly-opened Slate Bar with its mezzanine level overlooking the bottom floor. Various seating arrangements served by a funky looking bar which offers ales on draught, bottled and a few other international options. The huge selection of cocktails and Gins seem to be very popular with fresh botanicals to add. They are quite pricy though starting at £5 for a single gin. Although i haven't eaten there yet, i believe they offer food during the day. All in all I really liked it. It's something different, which can sometimes scare a few people, but i do wish them every success. Deffo give them a go!

Chic bar with a wide selection of Gin. Slightly lacking in character but friendly staff.
The G&Ts are well-presented with unique 'additions', depending on your choice.

Pleased to come across this modern European style cafe bar in Wainwright's yard. The coffee beans for my cappuccino had been roasted within the last two weeks. A blend of finca el aguila, gathaithu AA and finca el frutal beans with hints of plum, pineapple cubes, nuts and raisins. A glass of iced water and a taste of chocolate brownie came served on the slate with my delicious coffee.

I’m down on holiday with my other half and we decided to try find a place to eat breakfast, first time being here and we just thought we’d look around and we came across this cute little cafe/bar, greeted with wonderful service upon arrival, sat down and was handed our drinks then food, and wonderful it was! So delicious and filling! Worth the pennies and the service really did top it all off! So warm and welcoming! Defiantly recommend!

My girlfriend didn't like the raw fish. I like the soup carrot and coriander. The food on the menu was not available only limited. It is expensive. We had a pot of tea each. Cost us £21. Comfortable sofa. Relaxing. I wish we got more varieties on the menu instead of raw fish.

Overpriced and rude staff! I asked to try a taste of the wine first to see if the Rose was dry enough and the bar staff decided to have a discussion between them in front of me about how rude it was to ask for a try first. I think everyone is entitled to try the wine first when paying £7 a glass!!!!

Great place to relax, drink gin and sample some deliciously prepared food. Friendly welcoming staff. A place to visit if you are in Kendal!
