Came here several years ago soon after moving to the area.
Returned recently and it's now under new owners.
Warm welcome, clean and warm. Excellent value for money food.
Plenty of seating and they also do takeaway.
Walked in today and my absolute favourite pudding was on the specials... JAM ROLY POLY AND CUSTARD.. So just had to indulge.
This is our now go to cafe for food when we get rare days off from work.
Close to the car park mear the church for the less mobile.
Well done guys and gals keep up the good work. 😎

Lovely little cafe, food was delicious and it had a cosy atmosphere, myself and my partner had a ham sandwich and baked potato which were both very tasty. The owner was very friendly and chatty, it was a perfect place to stop for a cup of tea and some food on our road trip.

Lovely, homely place. Staff are friendly and accommodated my partner who asked for scrambled egg as she was struggling with a wisdom tooth. Food is good and very good value!

Stopped off for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Pleasant helpful staff, great food and prices and a good all round atmosphere. Would recommend a visit when next in Kendal.

Lovely cafe about a 3 min walk from what you'd call the centre of town. welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and the food is great value for money. Can sit in or takeaway. Takes cash but also takes card payments over £10. WiFi available for the kids devices that keep them quiet. Great choice on menu but also have a specials board. Sitting also available outside back fir those summer days.

Breakfast? you gotta go to union jack, such a welcoming staff, we were a group of 7 and the staff did all they can to accommodate us with social distancing in place, they looked after us very well in the 2 days we went there, the service is exceptional and food is absolutely tasty, service is fast and accommodated us with our needs as we had a little one with us. I would recommend to visit union jack cafe if you are in Kendal and experience the hospitality yourself. There is a parking right next to the cafe and 1 hr cost 1.20£. enjoy have fun. Tha k you union jack cafe staff for all you did.

Great Full Monty Breakfast.
Local pork sausages x2, bacon, black pudding, fried egg, fried bread, baked beans, mushrooms, hash brown and toast. Served with either tea, coffee, juice or can.
Everything cooked to perfection. There are always other customers in when I pass which is a very good sign for a little cafe not in the town centre.
Today (nearly Christmas!) They were serving Christmas dinners. I was sat out the way so 8 never saw them, but I could hear the compliments and many of the customers came down to near the kitchen to pass on their thanks for a great dinner.

Nice place, 7 of us called in here without reservation, and at a time, the cafe already had some large tables booked. No issues, friendly staff, great service, and food. Recommended.

Visited post-Lockdown so under covid restrictions, this cafe done an excellent job at adapting to a new normal, very pleasant staff despite witness to the odd ignorant fool, look forward to next visit to Kendal to get the Full Monty Breakfast- Definately a contender for best full English breakfast in the Lakes - Thankyou 🙌🏽🌞

One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while. Between us we had the vegetarian breakfast, small English breakfast and scrambled eggs on toast, and they were all magnificent and rejuvenated us weary travellers wonderfully. Plenty of options offered for customisation (and a rare excellent poached egg, if that’s your thing), all very well cooked and portioned and the pot of tea for two was very generous - enough for three, at least! Clearly a very popular spot with the locals for breakfast on a weekend, with a friendly, cosy, traditional caff atmosphere.
